DIRECTIONS FOR USE

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
Velary is a fungicide for the control of Alternaria in potatoes

Resistance Management
Velary contains mefentrifluconazole, a DMI fungicide belonging to FRAC Code G1.
Velary should be used in accordance with FRAC advice for DMIs.
Effective disease management is a critical component in delaying the build-up of resistant pathogen populations. Therefore, Velary should be applied according to the manufacturers recommended dose and spray timings even when disease pressure is low.
DMIs should be used in mixture, or in alternation with a non-cross resistant fungicide, at a dose rate which is effective against the target disease.
Velary should be used preventatively and should not be relied upon for its curative potential.
For further advice on resistance management contact your agronomist or specialist adviser or visit the FRAG-UK website.

Crop Specific Information
Potato
Alternaria spp.
Apply Velary as a preventative treatment and before disease becomes established in the crop. A maximum of three applications of Velary may be applied per year with a minimum of 7 days between applications. A minimum of 3 days must elapse between the last spray and harvest.
Apply Velary at a rate of 1.25 l/ha in a water volume of 100-400 litres per hectare.

Mixing and Application
Never prepare more spray solution than is required.
Three quarters fill the tank with clean water and start the agitation. To ensure thorough mixing of the product, invert the container several times before opening. Add the required quantity of Velary to the spray tank while re-circulating. Add the remainder of the water and continue agitation until spraying is complete.
When tank mixes are to be used, take due note of any instructions given as to the order of mixing. Each product should be added separately to the spray tank and fully dispersed before the addition of any further product(s).
All tank mixes should be used immediately after mixing.
On emptying the container, rinse container thoroughly by using an integrated pressure rinsing device or by manually rinsing three times. Add washings to tank at time of filling and dispose of container safely
