A granule containing 10% w/w oxamyl for the suppression of nematodes in potatoes, beet, carrots and parsnips.

PEST CONTROL

VYDATE 10G is a soil applied nematicide used for the suppression of various
nematodes in potatoes, sugar beet, carrots and parsnips. VYDATE 10G may be applied on all soil types, but its activity may be decreased on shell marl soils with greater than 60% calcium carbonate content. Care should be taken to ensure a good seedbed before application and incorporation.

CROPS
POTATOES
VYDATE 10G is effective against both species of Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN).
However, in some soils with high organic matter, control of Globodera pallida may be less effective. The application of VYDATE 10G is recommended where PCN is reducing the cropping potential and where planting potatoes without treatment could result in a significant increase in nematode numbers. Control will be reduced if pre-planting egg counts indicate a very high level of infestation. Please contact DuPont or supplier for advice on soil sampling, egg counts and variety choice.

APPLICATION
VYDATE 10G should be applied evenly and accurately to well cultivated soil during the course of final seed-bed preparations immediately prior to planting. Settings for appropriate application machinery are given in a separate calibration leaflet. These settings are intended only as a guide; it is essential that each machine is individually calibrated with VYDATE 10G in the field prior to application.
Immediately after the application of VYDATE 10G, the granules should be thoroughly and evenly incorporated to an appropriate depth to ensure granules are above and below the seed tuber.
The use of stone and clod separation equipment to incorporate VYDATE 10G can result in poor control of nematodes due to dilution or banding of the product in soil.
Extra care must therefore be taken to ensure even distribution of VYDATE 10G in the soil when mechanical stone separation equipment is used. Further details on application, machinery calibration and incorporation can be obtained from DuPont.

CROP SAFETY
All commonly grown varieties may be treated.

DOSE
The maximum rate of Vydate 10G on potatoes is 55 kg/ha
Short Duration crops (e.g. earlies, salad and punnet crops)
A rate of 40 kg/ha has proved effective at managing PCN for the shorter growth period associated with these crops. For crops grown with a soil pH at or below 6.0, growers are advised to conduct a residue test to ensure the Maximum Residue Level (MRL) is not exceeded.

SUGAR AND FODDER BEET

VYDATE 10G may be used to suppress free-living nematodes causing Docking Disorder.

CROP SAFETY
All commonly grown varieties may be treated.

APPLICATION
Apply the granules in the seed furrow at drilling to a minimum depth of 2.5cm.
Settings for appropriate application machinery are given in a separate calibration leaflet.

DOSE
Apply VYDATE 10G at 0.030 kg/100m row.

CARROTS AND PARSNIPS
VYDATE 10G can be used for the suppression of plant parasitic nematodes and for the reduction of fanging caused by nematodes.

CROP SAFETY

All commonly grown varieties may be treated.

APPLICATION
Apply the granules at drilling using a conventional granule applicator to a minimum depth of 2.5cm. Do not apply later than 12 weeks before harvest.

DOSE
Apply VYDATE 10G at 0.09 kg/100m row.
