DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully to ensure the safe and successful use of this product.
NOTES
Grass and weeds must be actively growing to ensure effective weed control and minimize any check to the grass.
Do not spray in drought, very hot, or very cold weather.
Control may be reduced if rain falls within 2 hours of application.
Do not roll or harrow grass for 10 days before or 7 days after application.
Clover will be killed or severely checked by CLAYTON DOCKER.
Do not sow kale, swedes, turnips, or grass mixtures containing clover by direct drilling or minimum cultivation techniques within 6 weeks of applying CLAYTON DOCKER.
CLAYTON DOCKER is safe to use on established grassland. Some transient yellowing of the sward may occur, but this will quickly outgrow. Vapour drift may occur in hot conditions, so it is important to assess the risk to neighbouring vegetation.
Take care to avoid spray drift onto susceptible crops, non-target plants, or waterways.
Do not apply directly to or allow spray drift to come into contact with agricultural or horticultural crops, amenity plantings, gardens, ponds, lakes, or watercourses.
Wash spray equipment thoroughly with water and detergent immediately after use, as traces of CLAYTON DOCKER could harm susceptible crops treated later.
Do not use on crops intended for seed production.
Treated crops should not be re-entered until spray deposits on leaf surfaces have dried completely.
GRAZING INTERVAL
Exclude livestock during treatment and do not allow grazing for at least 7 days following treatment.
Where ragwort is present, consult the Code of Practice on How to Prevent the Spread of Ragwort. Ragwort treated with herbicide becomes more palatable but contains higher toxin levels. Animals should not graze treated areas until the ragwort has fully died, with no visual signs of the weed remaining. Do not include treated ragwort in hay or silage crops.
GENERAL INFORMATION
CLAYTON DOCKER is a foliar-acting herbicide for the control of broad-leaved dock and curled dock in established grassland.
RATE OF USE AND TIMING
Apply CLAYTON DOCKER at 2.0 litres per hectare in 300-400 litres of water as an overall treatment during autumn or spring.
Use the higher water volume when weeds are large or the grass is dense.
Application timing is crucial; apply when grass and weeds are actively growing. Docks should be treated at the rosette stage. Ensure there is enough leaf area for herbicide uptake, especially in well-established docks with large taproots.
After cutting for hay or silage, or grazing, allow 2-3 weeks for regrowth before spraying.
Do not cut grass for 28 days after application to allow maximum translocation of CLAYTON DOCKER to the roots.
On large docks or areas with a high seed reservoir in the soil, a follow-up control program may be needed the following year.
MIXING
Fill the spray tank half-full with water, then add the required amount of CLAYTON DOCKER.
Continue filling with water while maintaining agitation during filling, spraying, and stoppages.
Mix only enough spray for the area to be treated and use it immediately.
SPRAY QUALITY
Apply CLAYTON DOCKER as a MEDIUM spray as defined by the BCPC system.
