DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully to ensure the safe and successful use of this product.
RESTRICTIONS
CLAYTON LANCER, whether used alone or in a tank-mix, must not be applied to any crop under stress due to drought, waterlogging, low temperatures, pest or disease attack, nutrient or lime deficiency, or any other factors that reduce crop growth.
Do not use on cereal crops undersown with grasses, clover, other legumes, or broadleaved crops.
Take care not to overlap spray swaths when using tank mixtures.
Do not use in tank-mix on oats, triticale, or linseed. For linseed, allow at least 7 days between CLAYTON LANCER and other treatments (10 days if the crop is growing poorly or under stress).
CLAYTON LANCER should not be applied within 7 days of rolling any crop.
Consult contract agents before using on crops grown for seed.
Special care must be taken to avoid drift damage to broadleaved plants outside the target area, as well as to ponds, waterways, or ditches. Thorough cleansing of equipment is essential (see Spray-tank Cleanout).
Crop Failure: In the event of crop failure for any reason, only wheat should be sown within 3 months of applying CLAYTON LANCER.
Refer to the Compatibility section for details on using CLAYTON LANCER with other 'ALS inhibiting' herbicides.
SOIL
CLAYTON LANCER can be used on all soil types.
VOLUME AND APPLICATION
Apply CLAYTON LANCER in 150 - 400 litres of water per hectare using suitable equipment to ensure good spray coverage of the weeds. The higher water volume is recommended when crops are thick or weed growth is dense. Take care not to overlap spray swaths.
MIXING AND SPRAYING
Before use, ensure that the spraying equipment is clean. CLAYTON LANCER mixes easily with water. Follow this mixing procedure:
Quarter fill the spray tank with water.
Start the agitation and add the required quantity of CLAYTON LANCER directly to the tank without prior creaming.
Continue agitation while topping up the tank and during spraying.
WEED CONTROL
CLAYTON LANCER is a highly active herbicide with foliar and root activity against a wide range of broadleaved weeds. It is most effective when applied to small, actively growing weeds. Larger weeds may be less susceptible, so it's important to note the size of each weed species at the time of application. Ensure good spray coverage of the weeds. Weed control may be reduced under very dry soil conditions. However, with adequate soil moisture, susceptible weeds germinating after treatment will also be controlled.
WEED RESISTANCE
When herbicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly over several years in the same field, resistant biotypes may develop. These resistant biotypes can propagate and dominate the field. A weed species is considered resistant if it survives a correctly applied treatment at the recommended dose.
To avoid or delay resistance development, sequence or tank-mix CLAYTON LANCER with suitable products that have a different mode of action. A strategy for resistance management should be implemented. The Weed Resistance Action Groups have produced guidelines, which are available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop adviser, or product manufacturer.
