A suspension concentrate containing 400 g/l (35.3% w/w) propyzamide.
For residual control of a wide range of grass and broad-leaved weeds in winter oilseed rape, winter field beans, fodder brassicas (seed crops), clover (seed crops), sugar beet (seed crops), lettuce (outdoor), lucerne, rhubarb (outdoor), top fruit, soft fruit, forestry, ornamentals and amenity vegetation.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
CAUTIONS
Avoid overdosing which may cause damage.
Do not apply more than one application of COHORT to the same area of land within 9 months.
Treated clover, brassicas and sugar beet (grown for seed) must not be used for human or animal consumption.
Consult your processor before using on crops intended for processing.
SOIL AND WEATHER CONDITIONS
COHORT can be used on all soil types except soils with an organic matter content greater than 10%, apart from usage in forestry. On stony or gravely soils there is a risk of crop damage especially if heavy rain falls soon after application.
Do not use on strawberries or winter field beans grown in certain soil types (see CROP RECOMMENDATIONS AND DOSE RATES).
Prepare a firm seedbed with fine tilth and preferably moist to allow maximum uptake of COHORT by the weeds. Excessive organic debris or ploughed-up turf may reduce the efficacy of COHORT.
During mild or wet autumn or winter conditions, or if heavy rain occurs shortly after application, emerged weeds may take longer to control and overall control may be reduced. Best results are achieved when weed growth (especially black-grass and volunteer cereals) is slow but with transpiration occurring.
Application may be made in frosty conditions as long as run-off from the soil surface does not occur.
WEED RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Strains of some annual grasses (e.g. black-grass, wild oats, Italian ryegrass) have developed resistance to herbicides which may lead to poor control. A strategy for preventing and managing such resistance should be adopted. Guidelines have been developed by the Weed Resistance Action Group and copies are available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop advisor or product manufacturer.
CROP RECOMMENDATIONS AND DOSE RATES
COHORT is a soil acting herbicide providing both pre-and post-emergence weed control. For best results, ensure the weeds are actively growing at the time of application. Emerged weeds may take longer to be controlled.
MIXING AND SPRAYING
Ensure the sprayer is clean, in good working order and calibrated accurately to the sprayer manufacturers’ recommendations. Add half the required volume of water to the spray-tank. Shake the container vigorously and add the recommended quantity to the spray tank. Agitate continuously while filling the tank and continue agitation during spraying. Do not leave sprayer standing with spray mixture in it. Thoroughly wash all spraying and measuring equipment with water and a wetting agent immediately after use.
TANK-MIXES AND SPRAYING PROGRAMMES
Winter oilseed rape: COHORT at recommended dose rate can be tank-mixed with Falcon at recommended dose rates in water volumes of not less than 200 l/ha.
