General Information:

GOPPO is a broad-spectrum insecticide that contains the active ingredient quizalofop-ethyl. It is effective against a wide range of grassy weeds, including barnyardgrass, junglerice, and sprangletop. GOPPO is a systemic herbicide with contact and root uptake. It also has pre- and post-emergence activity.

Mode of Action:

Quizalofop-ethyl is an aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase). ACCase is an enzyme that is involved in the biosynthesis of fatty acids, which are essential for plant growth and development. By inhibiting ACCase, quizalofop-ethyl stops the production of fatty acids, which leads to the disruption of plant growth and development, and eventually to death.

Application:

GOPPO can be applied as a foliar spray or soil drench. The recommended dose and application method will vary depending on the weeds to be controlled and the stage of crop growth. For example, to control barnyardgrass in rice, GOPPO can be applied as a post-emergence herbicide at a dose of 300-400 ml per hectare.

Precautions:

• GOPPO is a selective herbicide, but it can harm some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
• GOPPO is not rain fast. Therefore, it should not be applied if rain is expected within 4 hours of application.
• GOPPO is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.
