Fateh (Rallis India Limited) is a post-emergent, systemic herbicide with two active ingredients: clodinafop-propargyl (240 g/kg) and butachlor (400 g/kg). It is used to control a wide range of grasses and broadleaf weeds in wheat, rice, and sugarcane crops.

Mode of action:

Clodinafop-propargyl is a selective herbicide that inhibits the production of acetyl coenzyme A (acetyl-CoA), a key enzyme in the fatty acid biosynthesis pathway. This prevents the production of new cell membranes, which is essential for plant growth and development. Butachlor is a non-selective herbicide that inhibits cell division in weeds by disrupting microtubule formation. This prevents the weed from growing and reproducing.

Application:

Fateh can be applied as a broadcast or spot spray using a conventional sprayer. The application rate depends on the type of weed being controlled, the crop being grown, and the soil type. For example, to control grasses in wheat, the application rate is 0.42-0.84 L/ha. To control broadleaf weeds in wheat, the application rate is 0.84-1.68 L/ha. To control grasses and broadleaf weeds in rice, the application rate is 1.68-2.52 L/ha. To control grasses in sugarcane, the application rate is 2.52-3.36 L/ha.

Benefits:

Fateh is a highly effective herbicide that provides broad-spectrum control of a wide range of grasses and broadleaf weeds. It is also relatively selective, meaning that it will not harm most crop plants. Fateh is also a cost-effective herbicide, making it a popular choice for farmers.

Restrictions:

Fateh is a restricted-use herbicide and must be applied by certified applicators. It is also important to follow the label directions carefully to avoid crop injury.

Safety:

Fateh is a safe and effective herbicide when used according to the label directions. However, it is important to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when applying Fateh, including gloves, long sleeves, pants, and eye protection. It is also important to avoid contact with the skin and eyes.

Storage:

Fateh should be stored in a cool, dry place, out of reach of children and pets.

Additional notes:

Fateh is a very popular herbicide, and it is used in a variety of crops and situations. It is important to follow the label directions carefully to ensure effective weed control and minimize the risk of crop injury.
