Introduction

Maxxcott (Godrej Agrovet Ltd) Pyrithiobac Sodium 3.1% + Pendimethalin 34% ZC is a broad spectrum pre-emergence herbicide that controls a wide range of grasses and broadleaf weeds in maize and other crops.

Mode of Action

Pyrithiobac sodium is a pyrimidinylsulfonylurea (SULFONYLUREA) herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetolacctate synthase (ALS), which is essential for the synthesis of branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs). Without BCAAs, plants cannot grow and eventually die.

Pendimethalin is a dinitroaniline herbicide that inhibits cell division.

Application Rates
