General Information:

Safaya is a selective herbicide that contains the active ingredient 2,4-D amine salt. It is effective against a wide range of broadleaf weeds in sorghum, maize, wheat, potato, sugarcane, and non-cropped areas. Safaya is a systemic herbicide with contact and root uptake.

Active Ingredient:

  • 2,4-D Amine Salt 58% SL

Mode of Action:

2,4-D amine salt is a plant growth regulator that disrupts the growth and development of plants. It mimics the plant growth hormone auxin, which causes uncontrolled growth and eventually kills the plant.

Application:

Safaya can be applied as a foliar spray. The recommended dose and application method will vary depending on the weeds to be controlled and the stage of crop growth. For example, to control broadleaf weeds in sorghum, Safaya can be applied as a post-emergence herbicide at a dose of 1.2 liters per acre.

Precautions:

  • Safaya is a selective herbicide, but it can harm some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
  • Safaya is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.
  • Safaya is also toxic to humans and animals. It is important to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling and applying Safaya.
