Tozo is a broad-spectrum systemic fungicide that effectively controls a wide range of fungal diseases in various crops, including rice, potatoes, tomatoes, onions, and grapes. It is a suspension concentrate formulation that contains Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% as the active ingredients. Tozo is known for its preventive and curative action, long residual activity, and resistance management properties.

Mode of Action:

Tozo's active ingredients, Azoxystrobin and Tebuconazole, belong to different chemical classes and have different modes of action, providing a multi-pronged approach to disease control.

  • Azoxystrobin: It inhibits mitochondrial respiration in fungal pathogens, specifically at the cytochrome bc1 complex (Complex III), disrupting energy production and ultimately leading to their death.

  • Tebuconazole: It interferes with the biosynthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption of ergosterol synthesis leads to impaired membrane function, growth inhibition, and ultimately the death of fungal pathogens.

Application:

Tozo is applied as a foliar spray to the foliage of the target crops. Thorough coverage of the leaves and stems is essential for maximizing its effectiveness. The recommended application rate varies depending on the crop and the disease pressure.

Precautions:

  • Tozo is a moderately toxic fungicide and should be handled with care. Wear protective clothing, gloves, and goggles when handling the product.

  • Avoid contact with skin and eyes. If contact occurs, flush with water for 15 minutes and seek medical attention.

  • Do not apply Tozo to crops that are under stress from drought, flooding, or other factors.

  • Do not apply Tozo to water bodies or areas where there is a risk of runoff to water bodies. The fungicide is harmful to fish and aquatic organisms.

This list is not exhaustive, and Tozo can control a wide range of other fungal diseases in various crops. For specific information on disease control, always refer to the product label or consult with a local agricultural extension agent.
