General Information:

Vesta is a selective post-emergence herbicide that contains the active ingredients clodinafop-propargyl and metsulfuron-methyl. It is effective against a wide range of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in wheat.

Active Ingredients:

• Clodinafop-propargyl 15% WP
• Metsulfuron-methyl 1% WP

Mode of Action:

Clodinafop-propargyl is an aryloxyphenoxypropionate herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetyl-coenzyme A carboxylase (ACCase). ACCase is an enzyme that is involved in the biosynthesis of fatty acids, which are essential for plant growth and development. By inhibiting ACCase, clodinafop-propargyl stops the production of fatty acids, which leads to the disruption of plant growth and development, and eventually to death.

Metsulfuron-methyl is a sulfonylurea herbicide that inhibits the enzyme acetolactate synthase (ALS). ALS is an enzyme that is involved in the biosynthesis of essential amino acids in plants. By inhibiting ALS, metsulfuron-methyl stops the production of these amino acids, which leads to the disruption of plant growth and development, and eventually to death.

Application:

Vesta can be applied as a foliar spray. The recommended dose and application method will vary depending on the weeds to be controlled and the stage of crop growth. For example, to control annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds in wheat, Vesta can be applied as a post-emergence herbicide at a dose of 160 grams per hectare.

Precautions:

• Vesta is a selective herbicide, but it can harm some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
• Vesta is not rain fast. Therefore, it should not be applied if rain is expected within 4 hours of application.
• Vesta is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.
