Occurence
Infection is particularly severe during dry years. In leafy beet species.

Pattern of damage
From July to the beginning of the sugar beet harvest, leaves show white-gray coating (Picture 1), in situations of severe infestation leaves change color from faint-yellow and brown discoloration. Leaves may eventually wither and dry-up.
