For the control of Early and Late Blight in Potatoes.

GENERAL INFORMATION
AMISTAR OPTI is a broad spectrum fungicide containing two complementary active ingredients. Azoxystrobin from the strobilurin group with systemic, translaminar, protectant and antisporulant properties and Chlorothalonil is a protectant fungicide.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogens less sensitive to AMISTAR OPTI or related strobilurin products develop. To minimize this risk use strictly in accordance with the label instructions.
If 2 to 3 consecutive applications of AMISTAR OPTI or a related strobilurin product are used they must be followed by at least 2 applications of a fungicide from a different mode of action group before AMISTAR OPTI or a related strobilurin product is used again. If the final application is AMISTAR OPTI or a related strobilurin product, then a fungicide from a different group should be used as the first application in the following season.

Potatoes
Foliar applications of AMISTAR OPTI or a related strobilurin product applications should not exceed one third (a maximum of 4) of the total fungicide applications made to the crop in one season.

USE WARNING
AMISTAR OPTI is extremely phytotoxic to certain varieties of apple. AMISTAR OPTI cannot be used in any manner that could result in spray drift reaching apple trees. Sprayers used for AMISTAR OPTI applications cannot be used to spray apple trees nor cause drift onto apple trees, even after normal decontamination procedures have been followed.

MIXING
Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Shake the closed container then measure the required amount of AMISTAR OPTI into the spray tank adding any tank mix products last. Maintain agitation until spraying is complete. DO NOT leave the spray mix in the sprayer overnight.

APPLICATION
It is important that optimum spray coverage of the crop is achieved. Increase water rates as necessary to ensure complete foliar cover at all stages of crop development. The rates recommended are for high volume spraying. For low volume concentrate spraying adjust dilution rates accordingly. Wetting agent additives are not normally required when using AMISTAR OPTI.

COMPATIBILITY
AMISTAR OPTI is compatible with most commonly used insecticides and fungicides. Each product should be added separately to the bulk of the water in the spray tank whilst filling and agitator working.

STORAGE
When stored appropriately, this product should show no significant degradation for 2 years from the date of manufacture. Contact your supplier for further information about the use of any product that is older than this. See Safety Data Sheet for additional storage information. Stores containing quantities of 100 kg or more require signage and secondary containment.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
MANDATORY DIRECTIONS
As AMISTAR OPTI contains minute quantities of HCB, a compound that can be taken up by grazing stock to give unacceptable residues in meat and milk, the following restrictions on use of the product must be observed:
DO NOT graze treated crops.
DO NOT feed any part of treated crop to stock.
CULTIVATE treated areas thoroughly (ie not direct drilling or other minimum tillage techniques) before sowing pasture or any animal feed crop.
It is an offence to use this product on animals.

POTATOES
Disease: Early Blight, Late Blight
Rate: 1.25 litres/ha
Critical Comments: Apply in a minimum of 500 litres of water/ha for a crop in full canopy to ensure uniform coverage.
Apply as a protective spray at 7 to 10 day intervals during periods of active growth. Intervals can be increased to 10 to14 days later in the season as haulm growth ceases. Always use the closer intervals during periods of severe disease pressure.
Use higher spraying pressure or air assisted equipment to enhance penetration in densely foliated crops.

WITHHOLDING PERIOD
It is an offence for the users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the NZ (Maximum Residues of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standard
