General Information
BLADEX 50SC controls a wide range of weeds in maize, sweetcorn, lentil, lucerne, pea and potato crops. It is a moderately residual, selective herbicide that is effective through root absorption and possesses some foliar action.

Weeds controlled

Cotyledon to 4 true leaf stage:
Annual poa, black nightshade, brassica species, calandrinia, cornbind, groundsel, shepherds purse, speedwell, spurrey, twin cress and willow weed.

Cotyledon to 2 true leaf stage only:
Amaranthus (redroot), fathen, fumitory and white clover. These species become partially or totally resistant with increased size. Wireweed is partially controlled by BLADEX 50SC applied at the cotyledon to first true leaf stage only; the degree of control is variable but never complete.

Control of these weeds and others may be extended if BLADEX 50SC is used in combination with other herbicides. Use the table below as a guide for crop specific applications and the wider range of weed control that can be achieved.

Weeds not controlled (or recover after showing symptoms)

Californian thistle, cleavers, couch (twitch), docks, field poppy, scarlet pimpernel, tares, wild oats, yarrow and most perennial weeds. Many grasses, particularly perennial grasses, are not controlled by BLADEX 50SC and should these weeds be anticipated as a problem, a pre-plant application of a suitable herbicide is recommended.

Beware
Apply this product carefully. Spray drift may cause serious damage to other desirable plants.

Rainfall
Rainfall is required shortly after application to obtain residual control.

Surfactant
Do NOT add any surfactant unless specifically recommended.

Compatibility
BLADEX 50SC is compatible with paraquat in lucerne; MCPB in peas; alachlor, atrazine or metolachlor in maize and sweetcorn; and metribuzin in potatoes.

Mixing and Application
Use sufficient agitation to ensure that the BLADEX 50SC is completely dispersed and in uniform suspension in the spray tank prior to application or tank mixing with other formulations. Fill tank 1/4 full with water. Start and maintain consistent agitation through all mixing and spraying procedures. Make sure that the agitation system is working properly and creates a rippling or rolling action on the liquid surface. Slowly add BLADEX 50SC to the spray tank. Fill the tank to 75% capacity with water. Filling and bypass lines should be kept below liquid surface at this stage. Increase tank agitation if necessary to maintain surface action. When desired, tank mix formulations should be added at this time. Complete filling tank, maintaining sufficient agitation at all times to ensure surface action. Tank mixture should always be applied immediately after preparation. If for any reason this is not possible, ensure that sufficient agitation has been provided to remix all products and check for complete resuspension prior to application. Empty tank as completely as possible before refilling to prevent build-up of emulsifiable concentrate residues when tank mixing these formulations. Always maintain agitation to avoid separation.
