For insect control in Cereals, Brassicas and Potatoes.

GENERAL INFORMATION
DOVETAIL contains two active ingredients with complementary modes of action delivering rapid knockdown and residual control of aphids. Lambda-cyhalothrin is a fast acting stomach and contact insecticide and pirimicarb a fast-acting contact insecticide which is partially systemic and has strong fumigant action. DOVETAIL is relatively stable to degradation in sunlight and hence gives extended control of insects on plant surfaces. It has short persistence in the soil. Thorough coverage of plants is important for optimum results. Aphids controlled by DOVETAIL at recommended rates include: Black Bean Aphid, Blue Green Lucerne Aphid, Cabbage Aphid, Cereal Aphid, Grain Aphid, Rose-Grain Aphid, Green Peach Aphid, Pea Aphid, Potato Aphid and Rose Aphid.
Avoid using this insecticide exclusively all season, and avoid unnecessary spraying.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
DOVETAIL contains members of the acetylcholine esterase inhibitors (group1) and sodium channel modulators (group 3) insecticides. Resistance to this insecticide could develop from excessive use. To minimise this risk use strictly in accordance with label instructions and resistance management strategies.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
The rates suggested are for high volume spraying to run off. For concentrate spraying, adjust dilution rate accordingly.
It is an offence to use this product on animals.

CEREALS
Pest: Aphids
Rate: 1 L in 200 to 300 litres of water
Critical Comments: Apply at first sign of aphids. A second application may be needed if aphids continue to migrate into the crop.
Ensure sufficient water volume is used to give thorough crop penetration and coverage.

FORAGE AND VEGETABLE BRASSICAS
Pest: Aphids, Diamond Back Moth, White Butterfly
Rate: 1 to 1.25 L in 400 to 600 litres of water
Critical Comments: For caterpillar control use the higher rate. For Vegetable Brassicas apply to seedbeds and following transplanting at two week intervals or as indicated by pest activity. Application to Forage Brassicas should be made prior to a build up of pest numbers and before significant damage occurs. Add a non-ionic surfactant at label rates when treating brassicas.

POTATOES
Pest: Aphids, Potato Tuber Moth
Rate: 1.5 L in 200 to 400 litres of water
Critical Comments: Apply at first sighting of insect pests then at two weekly intervals or as indicated by pest activity.
For Tuber Moth control it is important to maintain adequate soil moisture and soil cover over developing tubers to assist prevention of tuber mining.

MIXING
Half fill spray tank with clean water, and add the required amount of DOVETAIL (and adjuvant where recommended) and agitate during completion of filling. Maintain agitation while spraying.

APPLICATION
Ensure that the sprayer is calibrated correctly and that DOVETAIL is applied in the recommended water volume. Higher volumes are needed where the foliage is dense. Take care to apply in sufficient water volume to ensure good crop coverage. Ensure equipment is calibrated to give even distribution at the correct volume.

SPRAY DRIFT
The person applying this substance must not cause adverse effects beyond the boundary of the treated property, and must also avoid adverse effects from spray drift occurring. Mitigation measures employed must be recorded as part of the application records.

RESTRICTED ENTRY INTERVAL
The person in charge of the application area shall ensure that no person enters the application area within 24 hours unless wearing the recommended Personal Protective Equipment:
- Chemical resistant coveralls
- Chemical resistant gloves
- Chemical resistant footwear plus socks
- Protective eyewear and chemical resistant headgear for overhead exposures

COMPATIBILITY
DOVETAIL mixes readily with water and is compatible with commonly used fungicides except strong alkaline materials.

It is an offence for users of this product to cause residues exceeding the relevant MRL in the New Zealand (Maximum Residue Limits of Agricultural Compounds) Food Standards.
