For the control of Powdery Mildews in grapevines and squash with inedible peel (kabocha). Quintec contains 250 g/l quinoxyfen.

APPLICATION METHOD
Use either: a sprayer designed to apply high volumes of water up to the point of run-off and matched to the crop being sprayed; or a sprayer designed and set up for concentrate spraying (that is a sprayer which applies water volumes less than those required to reach the point of run-off) and matched to the crop being sprayed.

Cleaning the spray equipment:
Rinsing
After using Quintec, empty the spray unit completely and drain the whole system. Thoroughly wash inside the unit using a pressure hose. Drain the spray unit, and clean any filters in the tank, pump, lines, hoses and nozzles.
After cleaning the spray unit as above, quarter fill with clean water and circulate through the pump, lines, hoses and nozzles. Drain and repeat the rinsing procedure twice.
Discard rinse water on land already sprayed or on waste land away from edible crops and water sources.

Using the spray equipment:
The following application situations must use spray equipment in accordance with the New Zealand Standard for the Management of Agrichemicals (NZS8409).

MIXING:
Agitate or shake the container vigorously prior to use. Add the required amount of Quintec to a half-full spray tank and agitated well during filling. Ensure thorough agitation during mixing and application.

STORAGE OF DILUTED SPRAY MIX
The spray mix must be used within 6 hours after mixing.

RAINFALL:
Quintec is rainfast one hour after application.

COMPATIBILITY AND TANK MIXING
Do not mix concentrates together but add each to the spray tank separately. As formulations of other manufacturers' products are beyond the control of Dow AgroSciences New Zealand Limited, all mixtures should be tested prior to mixing commercial quantities. As changes in climatic conditions can alter the sensitivity of plants to mixtures of sprays, Dow AgroSciences cannot be responsible for the behaviour of such mixtures.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Quintec is a foliar applied fungicide that only has protectant properties. Quintec has no curative activity and does not control any existing powdery mildew infection including the pre-visible stage. Once dry, Quintec is strongly bound to leaf waxes and therefore not easily washed off the foliage by rain. When applied to plant foliage, Quintec moves throughout the crop canopy by volatilization and re-absorption onto new, untreated plant material
