ASPARAGUS
Disease:
Phytophthora Spear Rot
Rates:
20 to 25 kg per treated hectare
Critical Comments:
Apply as an annual application in early spring 1 to 2 weeks prior to spear emergence, either as a 50 cm band over the row or as a broadcast application. Ensure that the soil is free of weeds and trash. Rainfall or irrigation is required within 48 hours of application to move the fungicide into the soil. Use the higher rate if disease was evident during the previous season.

AVOCADOS
Disease:
Phytophthora Root Rot
Rates:
50 to 100 g per square metre
Critical Comments:
Apply to trees with early leaf wilt symptoms, increasing to 100 g/square metre around trees more severely affected. Apply as an annual application in early spring, apply evenly under the tree out to the drip line. Ensure that the ground under the trees is clear of trash, mulch and vegetation. To ensure that the fungicide is washed off the granules and into the soil, application must be followed by at least 2 mm of rainfall or by irrigation (2 litres/square metre).
