For the control of Early and Late Blight in Potatoes and Tomatoes, Dryberry in Canefruit, Downy Mildew in Grapes, Onions, Cucurbits and Brassica seedbeds, Phytophthora Spear Rot in Asparagus, Phytophthora Crown Rot in Asparagus transplants, and Phytophthora Root Rots in Tree nurseries.

GENERAL INFORMATION
RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG is a systemic and protectant fungicide. Metalaxyl-M is systemic and is rapidly taken up by green tissue within 30 minutes and distributed within the leaves and stems providing disease control by inhibiting fungal growth within the plant. Mancozeb is a protectant, which provides a residual protective film over the plant surface, inhibiting spore germination.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Resistance to this fungicide and related products could develop from excessive use. To minimise this risk use strictly in accordance with label instructions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Important: DO NOT use as an eradicant treatment (ie. once disease symptoms are visible).
Volume of Application: For broadcast spraying, use sufficient water to obtain coverage without run-off, to achieve the maximum systemic and protectant effect from the product. For high volume spraying, the rate suggested is applied to run-off. For concentrate spraying, adjust dilution rate accordingly. The addition of a surfactant is recommended with all foliar applications of RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG.

It is an offence to use this product on animals

ASPARAGUS
Disease: Phytophthora Spear Rot
Rate: 12.5 to 15 kg in 200 litres water/treated hectare.
Critical Comments: Use the higher rate if disease was evident during the previous season. Apply to weed free soil in early spring 3 to 4 weeks prior to spear emergence, either as a 50 cm wide band over the row or as a broadcast application. About 10 mm rainfall is desirable to move the fungicide into the soil.

ASPARAGUS TRANSPLANTS
Disease: Phytophthora Crown Rot
Rate: 500 g /130 litres of water
Critical Comments: Immerse crowns for 5 minutes prior to transplanting.

BLACKBERRIES, BOYSENBERRIES AND OTHER BRAMBLES
Disease: Dryberry and Canespot
Rate: 250 g /100 litres water
Critical Comments: Mature Vines: Apply at 14 day intervals from bud burst to pre-flowering, reducing to 10 day intervals from tight cluster to early fruit formation when dryberry infection can be most serious. Primocanes: Apply immediately after final harvest and repeat at 14 day intervals while warm, wet conditions favour the disease. Under dry conditions use alternative protectant fungicides according to label recommendations followed by one application of RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG before leaf fall.

BRASSICA SEEDBEDS
Disease: Downy Mildew
Rate: 20 g /100 sq metres of seedbed (2 kg/ha)
Critical Comments: Use sufficient water to obtain complete coverage. Make the first application as soon as many of the seedlings have emerged, and repeat at 10 day intervals during transplanting.

CUCURBITS
Disease: Downy Mildew
Rate: 2.5 kg in 500 to 700 litres water/ha
Critical Comments: Make a maximum of 3 applications at 10 to 14 day intervals during the period of active growth when conditions of low night temperatures with dew formation favour the disease.

GRAPES
Disease: Downy Mildew
Rate: 250 g /100 litres of water applying a minimum of 1000 litres/ha.
Critical Comments: Make a maximum of 3 applications at 14 day intervals, when warm and wet conditions favour the disease at the pre-flowering, post-flowering, and early fruit set stages of growth. Subsequent applications of alternative protectant fungicides can be made as and when necessary until harvest. An application of RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG can be made after harvest, but before leaf fall to minimise carryover of disease into the following season.

ONIONS
Disease: Downy Mildew
Rate: 2 kg in 500 to 700 litres water/ha
Critical Comments: Make a maximum of 3 applications at 10 day intervals during the period of active growth when conditions of high humidity favour the disease.

POTATOES, TOMATOES
Disease: Early Blight, Late Blight
Rate: 2.5 kg in 500 to 750 litres water/ha, or use 250 g/100 litres of water as a foliar spray to run-off.
Critical Comments: Make a maximum of 3 applications at 10 to 14 day intervals during the period of active growth. Make the first application when the crop has fully emerged and before disease has occurred. Use the shorter spray interval when weather conditions favour the disease especially during active crop growth in the period prior to flowering. Apply when foliage is dry and no rain or irrigation is expected for at least 2 hours. DO NOT apply in the period following the completion of flowering as the translocation of RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG is considerably reduced if applied when haulms are drying off. IMPORTANT: Bacterial Speck and Bacterial Spot: As RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG does NOT control bacterial diseases in tomatoes, it may be necessary to use a protectant such as cupric hydroxide or copper oxychloride. Botrytis: RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG does NOT control Grey Mould (Botrytis cinerea).

TREE NURSERIES (RADIATA PINE, KAURI, CYPRESSES)
Disease: Phytophthora Root Rots
Rate: 12.5 to 50 kg in 200 to 300 litres water/treated hectare, preferably to damp ground.
Critical Comments: Use the higher rates for soils with high organic content, and on beds with a previous history of root rot problems.
Apply to seedbeds before seedling emergence. About 10 mm rainfall or irrigation is desirable to move the fungicide into the soil.

MIXING
RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG mixes readily with water. Pre mix the product with sufficient water into a smooth cream, pour into the partly filled spray tank and add the remainder of the water with agitation ensuring complete mixing before spraying. Continue agitation during spraying and after a stoppage before recommencing spraying.

COMPATIBILITY
RIDOMIL Gold MZ WG is compatible with most of the commonly used insecticides and fungicides except lime sulphur.
