Apply with amitrole or glyphosate 36% ai at recommended rates. Apply along a 1 m strip or as a 1 m diameter spot treatment along the proposed planting line. Application can be made at any time up to planting, however, it is advisable to wait until the effects of the knockdown herbicide are apparent to ensure planting stays within the treated areas

A wide range of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaf weeds at germination. It has no effect on established weeds.
Rate/ha:
1.5-2 litres
Critical Comments:

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
SIMANEX 500 SC is a pre-emergent herbicide which selectively controls certain broadleaf weeds and grasses in various crops. In non-agricultural areas the application of the higher rates will provide long term control of a wide range of weeds and grasses. Established perennial species are not always satisfactorily controlled. Since this product enters weeds mainly through their roots, its effectiveness depends on rainfall or irrigation after application to move it down into the weed root zone. Duration and effectiveness of the control depends on the amount of chemical applied, soil type, rainfall and particular weed species.

MIXING
Invert container several times before opening. Stir well. Add the full quantity of product to the partly filled spray tank while agitating. Fill tank and agitate to ensure thorough mixing and continue agitation while spraying. Agitate vigorously from the bottom if allowed to stand. Reseal part used containers immediately

APPLICATION
Apply in a minimum spray volume of 50 litres/ha. Higher volumes of water are desirable as this increases effectiveness and accuracy of distribution.

COMPATIBILITY
This product is compatible with diuron. It can be applied with glyphosate, paraquat, diquat and paraquat-diquat mixtures, provided the mixture is agitated. If allowed to stand, agitate vigorously.

PROTECTION OF CROPS, NATIVE AND NON-TARGET PLANTS
When spraying for total weed killing purposes, care should be taken not to spray beds where desirable annual plants are to be grown. Avoid drift of spray on to garden beds and plants. Crops such as Beetroot, Lettuce, Cabbage, Tomatoes, Cucumber and Carrots are particularly sensitive to SIMANEX SC residues. Do not use in channels or drains or in other situations where roots of desirable plants or shrubs may extend. Do not use near newly planted shrubs, young ornamentals and other species with surface roots.
