Chenopodium vulvaria

Spreading to decumbent annual with a strong odour (trimethylamine) similar to decaying fish.

Leaves ovate to broad-ovate; lamina 1–2 cm long, entire, mealy with vesicular hairs on the lower surface and scattered hairs on the upper surface; petiole about half as long as lamina.

Inflorescence of dense terminal and axillary paniculate clusters. Flowers bisexual (terminal) and female (lateral), 1–2 mm diam., shortly 5-lobed. Stamens 5 or 0.

Seed horizontal, lenticular, 1–2 mm diam.
