General Information:

Caviet is a systemic fungicide that contains the active ingredient tebuconazole. It is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases in a variety of crops, including rice, wheat, groundnut, and vegetables. Caviet is absorbed by the roots and leaves of the plants and translocated to all parts of the plant, including the growing points. It inhibits sterol biosynthesis in fungi, which is essential for fungal growth and development.

Active Ingredient:

  • Tebuconazole 25% WG

Mode of Action:

Caviet inhibits sterol biosynthesis in fungi. Sterols are essential components of fungal cell membranes. By inhibiting sterol biosynthesis, Caviet disrupts the integrity of fungal cell membranes and leads to the death of the fungi.

Application:

Caviet can be applied as a foliar spray or soil drench. The recommended dose and application method will vary depending on the crop and the fungal disease to be controlled. For example, to control blast in rice, Caviet can be applied as a foliar spray at a dose of 750 grams per hectare.

Precautions:

  • Caviet is a selective fungicide, but it can injure some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
  • Caviet is not rain fast. Therefore, it should not be applied if rain is expected within 4 hours of application.
  • Caviet is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.

The information provided here is for general information purposes only. It is not intended to be a substitute for professional advice. Please consult a qualified agronomist or crop advisor for specific recommendations on the use of Caviet fungicide.

Additional Information:

Caviet is a popular fungicide among farmers in India because it is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases, including some difficult-to-control diseases such as blast in rice and rust in groundnut. It is also relatively safe for crops if used correctly.

However, it is important to note that Caviet is a systemic fungicide, which means that it can be absorbed by the plants and translocated to all parts of the plant, including the edible parts. Therefore, it is important to follow the pre-harvest interval (PHI) specified on the label before harvesting the crops.
