General Information:

Cultivo is a broad-spectrum fungicide that provides protection against powdery mildew, fruit rot diseases of chili, leaf spot, and pod blight diseases of soybean. It is a water-dispersible granule (WDG) that has both protective and curative properties, making it effective at multiple stages of fungal development.

Active Ingredients:

Cultivo contains two active ingredients: Tebuconazole and Sulphur. Tebuconazole is a steroid demethylation (ergosterol biosynthesis) inhibitor that works as a non-systemic fungicide with protective and curative action 1. Sulphur, on the other hand, is a non-specific thiol reactant that inhibits respiration. It has contact and vapor action and shows secondary acaricidal activity.

Mode of Action:

Tebuconazole is rapidly absorbed into the vegetative parts of the plant, with translocation principally acropetally. It works at multiple stages of fungal development and has both preventive and curative properties. Sulphur, on the other hand, is a protective fungicide with contact and vapor action. It shows secondary acaricidal activity.

Application:

Cultivo is applied with a knapsack sprayer at the early appearance of disease. For reasons of phytotoxicity, mixing with oils should be avoided. The recommended dose for chili powdery mildew and fruit rot is 0.5 ml per acre, diluted in 200 liters of water, with a waiting period of 5 days. For soybean leaf spot and pod blight, the recommended dose is 0.5 ml per acre, diluted in 200 liters of water, with a waiting period of 26 days.

Precautions:

Cultivo should be stored in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. It should be kept out of reach of children and pets 1. Protective clothing such as gloves, goggles, and masks should be worn while handling the product.
