General Information:

  • Trade name: Folicur
  • Active ingredient: Tebuconazole (25%)
  • Fungicide class: Triazole fungicide

Mode of Action:

Folicur is a systemic fungicide that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. Without ergosterol, the fungus cannot grow and reproduce.

Application:

Folicur can be applied to a variety of crops, including cereals, oilseeds, and vegetables. It can be applied pre-emergence or post-emergence, but it is most effective when applied preventatively. Folicur can be applied using a variety of application methods, including ground spraying, aerial spraying, and chemigation.

Precautions:

  • Folicur is toxic to fish and other aquatic life. Do not apply Folicur to areas where it may run off into water bodies.
  • Folicur can be harmful to non-target plants. Avoid applying Folicur to areas where non-target plants are growing.
  • Folicur is a residual fungicide, so it can persist in the soil for several weeks. Do not plant crops that are sensitive to Folicur within 3 to 6 weeks of application.

Always follow the label directions carefully when using Folicur fungicide to ensure safe and effective use.

Additional Information:

  • Folicur is a relatively old fungicide, but it is still widely used because it is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases and is relatively inexpensive.
  • Folicur is a broad-spectrum fungicide, which means that it is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases, including:
    • Cereal rusts
    • Cereal leaf spots
    • Oilseed rape diseases
    • Vegetable diseases, such as powdery mildew and downy mildew
  • Folicur is a systemic fungicide, which means that it is absorbed by the plant and translocated to the growing points. This makes it very effective at controlling fungal diseases.
