General Information:

Kitoshi is a systemic fungicide that belongs to the Strobilurin group. It is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases in a variety of crops, including Chilli, Potato, and Tomato. Kitoshi is a broad-spectrum fungicide that inhibits fungal respiration and spore germination.

Active Ingredient:

  • Azoxystrobin 12.5% + Tebuconazole 12.5% SC

Mode of Action:

Kitoshi is a systemic fungicide that is absorbed by the roots and leaves of the plants and translocated to all parts of the plant, including the growing points. It inhibits fungal respiration and spore germination. Fungal respiration is essential for fungal growth and development. By inhibiting fungal respiration, Kitoshi prevents the fungi from growing and eventually kills them.

Application:

Kitoshi can be applied as a foliar spray or soil drench. The recommended dose and application method will vary depending on the crop and the target disease. For example, to control early blight in potato, Kitoshi can be applied as a foliar spray at a dose of 250-300 ml/ha.

Precautions:

  • Kitoshi is a selective fungicide, but it can injure some crops if applied incorrectly. It is important to read and follow the label directions carefully.
  • Kitoshi has a moderate residual activity in the soil. Therefore, it is important to rotate crops to avoid injury to subsequent crops.
  • Kitoshi is toxic to fish and other aquatic organisms. Therefore, it should not be applied near water bodies.

Additional Information:

Kitoshi is a popular fungicide among farmers in India because it is effective against a wide range of fungal diseases, including some difficult-to-control diseases such as early blight in potato and late blight in tomato. It is also relatively safe for crops and has a moderate residual activity in the soil, which helps to protect crops from fungal diseases for a longer period of time.
