DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

For the best results, apply Barclay Avoca Premium before disease appears, according to a planned programme on the expected incidence of disease or as soon as disease appears. Control becomes more difficult once disease is established and potential yield may be reduced. The recommendations must be supplemented when necessary to meet specific disease threats not controlled or not fully controlled by chlorothalonil and/or propiconazole.

Disease
Leaf spot Glume blotch (Septoria spp).
Timing
Spray before disease is seen, from GS 31 (first node) when conditions appear favourable for disease development. Repeat if required, up to GS69 (end of flowering).
Barclay Avoca Premium is a protectant fungicide, which prevents infection starting. Where disease is already well established, apply Barclay Avoca Premium with an eradicant tank-mix partner.
Rate
2.0 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water.
Disease
Brown rust (Puccinia recondita)
Yellow rust (Puccinia striiformis)
Timing
Spray as soon as the disease is seen, from GS 31 (first node). Repeat if required, up to GS69 (end of flowering).
Rate
2.0 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water.

WINTER AND SPRING BARLEY

Leaf blotch,
(Rhynchosporium secalis)
- moderate control.

Rate
2.0 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water
Disease
Brown rust (Puccinia hordei)
Timing
Spray as soon as the disease becomes active. Repeat if required, no later than ear emergence (growth stage 51).
Rate
2.0 l/ha in at least 200 l/ha water.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Barclay Avoca Premium should be applied in at least 200l/ha of water, in a medium spray (as defined by BCPC), using a correctly calibrated sprayer. Half fill the sprayer with water, add the required amount of Barclay Avoca Premium, then top up with the remaining quantity of water. Agitate while adding the Barclay Avoca Premium, then continue agitation when topping up the spray tank and during spraying

CARE OF SPRAYER
Immediately after each days use with Barclay Avoca Premium, wash out the sprayer thoroughly with clean water and a wetting agent (recommended for the cleaning of sprayers) according to standard cleaning procedures.

COMPATIBILITY
Barclay Avoca Premium must always be applied in combination with a tank-mix partner, as part of an integrated disease control programme. Please contact your distributor for the complete list of products compatible with Barclay Avoca Premium.

RESISTANCE
Barclay Avoca Premium contains Propiconazole, a DMI (triazole) fungicide. Resistance to this class of fungicides has been recorded in leaf spot of wheat (Septoria tritici). This may seriously affect the performance of some products.

Barclay Avoca Premium also contains chlorothalonil. This compound has a different mode of action to propiconazole. This means that Barclay Avoca Premium forms an effective part of a resistance management strategy, when disease pressure is low to moderate. When disease pressure is high, or if curative activity is required, Barclay Avoca Premium should be used with fungicides with a different mode of action.
