DIRECTIONS FOR USE

IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

RESTRICTIONS OR WARNING
Do not plant sugar beet within a year of an application of Clayton Patriot.
Consult processors before use on strawberry, raspberry or blackberry.
Apple and pear – resistance. Clayton Patriot contains pyrimethanil, an anilinopyrimidine (AP) fungicide. Clayton Patriot should only be used as a protectant spray. To prevent less-sensitive strains of Venturia from developing, Clayton Patriot should be used in a programme, alternating or mixing with products of different modes of action. Application should be made in accordance with FRAC
Guidelines. A maximum of four AP containing products is recommended per season. In locations where AP insensitive strains of Venturia have been reported, Clayton Patriot should be used in mixture with effective scab fungicides of differing modes of action.

Strawberry – resistance. Clayton Patriot should only be used as a protectant spray. To prevent strains of Botrytis less sensitive to Clayton Patriot from developing, its use with other effective botryticides is recommended in alternating programmes. In 3 or 4 spray programmes Clayton Patriot should be applied no more than once. If more than 4 applications are necessary Clayton Patriot may be used twice in a season providing at least two applications of other botryticides with different modes of action are made between the applications of Clayton Patriot.

CROP-SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Apple and Pear.
For the control of Leaf scab. Use 1 litre product per hectare in 330 to 500 litres water per hectare. See note below *
Apply as part of a programme of preventative fungicides. Applications can be made from start of bud burst at intervals of 7 days, using a maximum of 4 applications per year. A minimum of 56 days must elapse between the last treatment and harvest.
Strawberry (outdoor and protected), raspberry and blackberry
For the control of Grey mould. Use 2 litres product per hectare in 500 to 900 litres of water per hectare. It is important to achieve accurate and complete coverage of the plant rows for effective protection of the crop.
Apply as part of a programme of preventative fungicides. Applications can be made from pre-bloom up to 7 days before harvest at intervals of 7 to 10 days depending on disease conditions.
Ensure adequate penetration of the canopy and coverage of the foliage and flowers/fruit.
To avoid resistance, alternate treatments in a programme with fungicides with different modes of action which give effective grey mould control.
Note *
For dose adjustment to follow changing tree height or cropping environment it is recommended that the PACE process is followed.
PACE is a recognised process in the UK, info on PACE at http://pjwrc.co.uk/
Where tree height and/or canopy density is reduced, the dose (and water volume) should be adjusted in accordance with an appropriate dose adjustment scheme. Consult your specialist advisor for further information. Further information on the PACE scheme is available from HDC, or see the HDC leaflet (Orchard Spraying: Opportunities to reduce rates)’
