A water dispersible granule formulation containing 600 g/kg carbetamide.

For the control of certain annual grasses and some broad-leaved weeds.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
CRAWLER is a wettable powder which contains 600 g/ kg (60% w/w) carbetamide. It is primarily active against annual grasses including volunteers, Black-grass, Meadow-grasses and Wild-oat.
It will also give a measure of control of some broad-leaved weeds depending on the crop situation.
CRAWLER is slow acting, taking 6-8 weeks for activity to become apparent.

RESTRICTIONS
OVERLAPPING MUST BE AVOIDED.
Conditions resulting in crop stress could lead to crop damage.

Seed Bed Preparation
CRAWLER may be used on all soil types except soils containing more than 10% organic matter. To ensure weed control is not impaired it is important that all trash is dispersed or buried before applying CRAWLER and the final seed bed is firm and does not contain clods greater than fist size.

Soil and Weather Conditions
CRAWLER acts primarily by root up-take, hence MOIST SOIL is essential for herbicide activity.

DO NOT apply when weeds are fully dormant i.e. during or immediately after prolonged periods of cold weather. Application may be made during a short frosty spell.
In seasons of abnormally high rainfall when soils remain saturated for long periods the persistence and activity of CRAWLER may be affected.
CRAWLER must not be applied to waterlogged soils.

CRAWLER is compatible with ‘Dow Shield’ for added Mayweed control. Mix CRAWLER as directed, then top up and add ‘Dow Shield’. Consult the ‘Dow Shield’ label text for recommendations of growth stages of weeds controlled.

Resistant Weeds
RESISTANT WEEDS include, field forget-me-not, groundsel, mayweeds, parsley-piert, red dead-nettle and all perennial broad-leaved weeds.
Strains of some annual grasses, (e.g. black-grass, wild oats, and Italian rye-grass) have developed resistance to herbicides which may lead to poor control. A strategy for preventing and managing resistance should be adopted. Guidelines have been produced by the Weed Resistance Group and copies are available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop advisor or product manufacturer.

Sequential Treatments
CRAWLER or CRAWLER tank-mixes may be used after approved pre-emergence herbicides providing the crop has recovered from any leaf de-waxing and is well established.

Rate of Use
3.5 kg/ha.

Harvest Interval
INTERVAL BETWEEN TREATMENT AND HARVEST
An interval of at least 6 weeks must elapse between treatment and cutting, grazing, or harvesting any crop.

INTERVAL BETWEEN TREATMENT AND SOWING SUBSEQUENT CROPS
The following intervals should elapse between using CRAWLER and sowing subsequent crops.
Brassicas, field beans - 2 weeks
Peas, runner beans - 8 weeks
Cereals, maize - 16 weeks

IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO PLOUGH FOLLOWING THE APPLICATION OF CRAWLER AND SOWING ANY SUBSEQUENT CROP.

MIXING AND APPLICATION
Preparation
Add the required quantity of CRAWLER to the partly filled spray-tank. Complete filling of the spray tank and agitate to ensure thorough mixing before spraying commences. Agitate whilst spraying including tank- mixes.

Volume
Apply in 200-400 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM or COARSE spray (BCPC category). Use the higher volume where crop or weed infestation is dense.
A spray pressure of at least 2 bar should be used.
Where 50 mesh or finer filters are fitted to the sprayer these should be removed before spraying
