An emulsifiable concentrate containing 250 g/l Tebuconazole.
A fungicide for the control of a range of diseases in winter and spring wheat (excluding Durum), barley, rye, oats, triticale and oilseed rape.
Other Specific Restrictions:
For use on cereals a maxmimum dose of 1 L/ha applies after BBCH 30 and before early boot stage (BBCH39). A futher maximum dose of 1 L/ha cannot be applied until after BBCH 40 stage. For use on oilseed rape a maximum total dose of 0.5 litres of product /ha can be applied between growth stages BBCH 14 and BBCH 19. For use on oilseed rape a maximum total dose of 1.0 litre of product /ha can be applied between growth stages BBCH 20 and BBCH 69. For use on oilseed rape if an application is made before BBCH 19 then no further applications are allowed on the crop. A minimum interval of 14 days applies between applications. Do not apply by hand held equipment.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT
This information is authorised as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. Apply FEZAN to dry foliage. Do not apply in frosty weather or within 3 hours of rainfall.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN CEREAL CROPS
As a general rule, disease control and yield benefit will be optimal when treatment is made at an early stage of disease development. If disease pressure remains high application of an alternative effective product may be required to maintain control and to comply with the timing restrictions necessary for FEZAN.

Rate of Application
1.0 litre/ha

Volume of Water
Use at least 200 litres of water/ha. Increase the water volume to 400 litres/ha in very dense crops or susceptible varieties. Apply as a MEDIUM quality spray as defined in the BCPC system.

Crops
FEZAN can be applied to all varieties of barley, wheat (except Durum wheat), oats and rye.

Diseases Controlled and Application Timing
FEZAN may be applied at any stage between beginning of stem elongation (GS 30) and before the grain watery ripe stage (before GS 71), with maximum of one application before the early boot stage (GS 39) and one application after GS 40 stage. Do not apply more than 2.0 litres/ha of FEZAN per crop.
1. Control (oats and rye) and Moderate control of Powdery Mildew (wheat, barley and triticale) – Apply FEZAN at the first signs of disease. When disease pressure remains high application may be repeated if necessary, but see considerations under ‘FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE’. On wheat, barley and rye improved control of established infections, or on particularly susceptible varieties, may be achieved by adding 0.5 l/ha Corbel (M00578) in tank mixture.
2. Moderate Control of Septoria Leafspot (wheat, rye and triticale) and Control of Septoria Glume Blotch (wheat, barley and rye) – To protect the flag leaf and ear, apply FEZAN from the ‘flag leaf emerging’ stage (GS 37) up to the ‘ear fully emerged’ stage (GS 59). Earlier application may be necessary if there is a high risk of Septoria leaf spot. Apply when disease is active but before it appears on the upper leaves. Applications made when foliar symptoms are already present on the upper leaves will be less effective.
3. Control of Yellow Rust (wheat, barley and triticale) and Brown Rust (wheat, barley, rye and triticale) – Apply as soon as the disease is seen. Applications made to established infestations will be less effective. Repeat after 2-3 weeks if reinfection occurs.
4. Good reduction of Fusarium Ear Blights (wheat, barley, oats, rye and triticale) – An application of FEZAN shortly after ear emergence can give a good reduction of Fusarium ear blight.
5. Moderate Control of Rhynchosporium Leaf Blotch (barley, rye and triticale) – Apply FEZAN at the onset of disease. A second application may be necessary 2–3 weeks later, but see considerations under ‘FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE.
6. Useful reduction of Net Blotch (barley) – Apply at the first sign of disease in the spring or early summer. If conditions remain favourable for disease development, a second application should be made 2-3 weeks later. If the disease develops after flag leaf emergence, a single application should provide good protection.
Occasionally, after application of FEZAN, some transient leaf speckling on wheat, or leaf reddening/scorch on oats, may occur, but these symptoms have not been shown to adversely affect yield responses accruing from the benefits of disease control.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE IN OILSEED RAPE
May be used on all varieties of winter oilseed rape. If disease pressure remains high application of an alternative effective product may be required to maintain control and to comply with the timing restrictions necessary for FEZAN.
Volume of Water
Use at least 200 litres of water/ha. Increase the water volume to 600 litres/ha in very dense crops or susceptible varieties. Apply as a MEDIUM quality spray as defined in the BCPC system.

Diseases Controlled and Application Timing
FEZAN can be applied at any time up to the end of flowering.
Do not apply more than 1.0 litres/ha of FEZAN per crop.
1. Control of Light leaf Spot (Pyrenopeziza brassicae) – Apply FEZAN at 0.5 L/ha in autumn/winter to prevent early disease development. If an autumn/winter treatment (or any application made before GS 20) has NOT been made, a spring (March) application of 1.0 L/ha may be made from the onset of stem extension.
2. Good reduction of Phoma Leaf Spot/Stem Canker (Leptospheria maculas) – Apply FEZAN at 0.5 L/ha in autumn/winter to prevent early disease development. If an autumn/winter treatment (or any application made before GS 20) has NOT been made, a spring (March) application of 1.0 L/ ha may be made from the onset of stem extension.
3. Reduction of Stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotorium) – If an autumn/winter treatment (or any application made before GS 20) has NOT been made, a spring (March) application of 1.0 L/ha may be made from the onset of stem extension. Do not mix FEZAN with any other product when applying during the flowering period of oilseed rape.

Mixing
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and begin agitation. Add the required quantity of FEZAN to the tank and complete filling. Continue agitation until spraying is completed.

Procedures for cleaning application equipment and protective clothing
The remainder of spray in the tank of sprayer should be diluted and sprayed over already treated areas. Empty as thoroughly as possible all the equipment. Double rinse with water and recover contaminated effluents. After use, containers and nozzles are thoroughly rinsed with water and cleaning agent. Contaminated water should be disposed off in agreement with local regulations. Protective clothing shall be washed in the usual way.

FUNGICIDE RESISTANCE
FEZAN is a DMI fungicide. Repeated application of FEZAN alone on the same crop should be avoided. Tank mixture or alternation with fungicides with a different mode of action (e.g. morpholines) have been shown to protect against of development of resistant forms of disease.
Strains of Light Leaf Spot resistant to azole fungicides are known to exist. To avoid development of resistance apply product protectively in response to disease forecasts. Where possible, when Light Leaf Spot is present use a fungicide with an alternative mode of action or mixes containing an alternative mode of action when targeting other diseases such as Sclerotinia at mid flowering.
Resistance to some DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further advice on resistance management in DMIs contact your agronomist or specialist advisor, and visit the FRAG-UK website.
