FORMULATION: 150g/l (13.8% w/w) mecoprop-P, 18.7g/l (1.7% w/w) dicamba as the potassium salts. Soluble concentrate formulation.
TARGETS: Controls a wide range of annual and perennial weeds in winter and spring cereals and grassland. Can be used in a tank mix as an alternative to CMPP-P

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Restrictions:
Spray when growing conditions are good and there is a minimum of wind. Do NOT spray if there is sufficient wind to cause spray drift or heavy rain is expected. Avoid drift onto all broad-leaved plants outside the target area.

Following Crops:
Any crop may be sown after a crop treated with Hyban P.

Mixing:
FILLING THE SPRAYER; half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Add the required quantity of Hyban-P and top up the tank with water.

WASH EQUIPMENT
thoroughly with water and wetting agent or liquid detergent immediately after use. Spray out, fill with clean water and leave overnight. Spray out again before storing or using for another product. Traces of product can cause harm to susceptible crops sprayed later.

Crop Specific Information:
Cereals: Winter and spring wheat, barley, oats, triticale and rye, including crops undersown with grass.

Weed resistance
Weeds which are resistant to HYBAN-P are Corn Marigold, Field Pansy and Red Deadnettle.
Recommendations for improved weed control with tank-mixtures.
The control of Hempnettle and Corn Poppy can be improved by the addition of a minimum of 1.5 litres/hectare of HY-MCPA in the spray tank with the HYBAN-P.

Rates of use.
Use HYBAN-P at 5 litres per hectare. In spring cereals a rate of 4 litres per hectare is sufficient providing the weed infestation is light, the weeds are in the seedling stage and the crop is growing vigorously. HYBAN-P may also be used on cereals undersown with grass at up to 4 litres per hectare providing the cereal is within the correct growth stage and the grass has at least 2-3 leaves.

Application and Timing
For both autumn and spring sown cereals, spray in the spring, from the five leaf stage onwards, but before jointing has started.
Do not spray crops that have been or are going to be undersown with clover or other legumes.
Do not spray HYBAN-P once first node stage is reached. Do not spray if the crop is under stress from drought, or waterlogging. Late application to early maturing wheat varieties should in particular be avoided, as yield reductions may occur.
Under some conditions temporary prostration of the crop may occur after spraying. The crop will soon recover and grow away normally.
Annual weeds should be sprayed as early as possible providing they have all germinated and the crop is at the five leaf stage. If perennial weeds are the main problem, spraying should be delayed as late as possible before the crop has reached the first node detectable stage.
Spraying should be carried out as accurately as possible with no overlapping or double application otherwise some crop scorch can occur. Do not roll, harrow or graze the crop within one week before or after spraying. NB Always spray HYBAN-P when growing conditions are good. Weed control is superior where the crop is vigorous and provides adequate competition.

Grassland:
HYBAN-P controls a number of broad-leaved weeds in grassland. It also gives a useful reduction in established broad-leaved weeds including nettles, thistles and docks. Restrictions DO NOT exceed the maximum dose of 5 litres HYBAN-P per hectare. Animals should NOT be allowed to graze grassland for at least 14 days after spraying. If poisonous weeds such as Ragwort are present do NOT allow livestock into the field for at least 14 days AND until the foliage has died and become unpalatable. DO NOT cut sprayed fields for silage if poisonous weeds are present, until all such weeds are dead. DO NOT use HYBAN-P in fields in which clover forms an important part of the sward.

WEED CONTROL
Chickweed and Scentless Mayweed - seedling and young plant (3-4 leaves). Creeping Buttercup, Creeping Thistle Spear Thistle, Plantain, Dock, Daisy, Stinging Nettle .
Do NOT graze the crop less than one week prior to spraying as time is needed to allow docks to re-grow prior to treatment.

Rates of Use
Use HYBAN-P in grassland at 5 litres per hectare, either as an overall treatment, or a spot treatment: OVERALL TREATMENT: Apply 5 litres per hectare in at least 200 litres of water per hectare with a MEDIUM quality spray. SPOT TREATMENT: Apply 800mls HYBAN-P in 20 litres water using a knapsack sprayer. Spray until foliage is completely wetted. A maximum of 5 litres HYBAN-P may be applied as a spot treatment on each treated hectare.

Application and Timing
For economical control of broad-leaved weeds in grassland HYBAN-P should be applied as a programme of sprays. In the first instance use HYBAN-P as an overall spray, preferably in May and June when the weeds are actually growing. Perennials are best treated when the flower buds are visible, although the product will be most effective against docks in the seedling stages or during the early stages of regeneration from shoots. Established perennials are unlikely to be sufficiently checked by a single season of treatment.
A second spray should be used to treat re-growth in Summer or Autumn, generally between August and October. For isolated patches of weeds, HYBAN-P may be used as a spot treatment and should be applied to completely wet the leaf surfaces until run-off. For long term reduction in docks, stinging nettles and thistles, treatment may have to be repeated in the following season.
Spray when growing conditions are good and there is a minimum of wind. Do NOT spray if there is sufficient wind to cause spray drift or if heavy rain is expected. Avoid drift onto all broadleaved plants outside the target area.
Spray at 100-500 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM quality spray (BCPC definition) and always use a minimum of 200 litres/hectare if the crop is dense or the weeds are large.
