DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Restrictions:
DO NOT exceed the maximum dose of 5 litres HYGRASS-P per hectare. Animals should NOT be allowed to graze grassland for at least 14 days after spraying.
If poisonous weeds such as Ragwort are present do NOT allow livestock into the field for at least 14 days AND until the foliage has died and become unpalatable.
DO NOT cut sprayed fields for silage if poisonous weeds are present, until all such weeds are dead.
DO NOT use HYGRASS-P in fields in which clover forms an important part of the sward.
Avoid drift onto all broad-leaved plants outside the target area.

Following Crops:
Any crop may be sown after a crop treated with HYGRASS P.

Crop Specific Information - Grassland
HYGRASS-P controls a number of broad-leaved weeds in grassland. It also gives a useful reduction in established broad-leaved weeds including nettles, thistles and docks.

WEED CONTROL
Chickweed and Scentless Mayweed - seedling and young plant (3-4 leaves). Creeping Buttercup, Creeping Thistle Spear Thistle, Plantain, Dock, Daisy, Stinging Nettle Do NOT graze the crop less than one week prior to spraying as time is needed to allow docks to re-grow prior to treatment.

Rates of Use Use
HYGRASS-P in grassland at 5 litres per hectare, either as an overall treatment, or a spot treatment:
OVERALL TREATMENT: Apply 5 litres per hectare in at least 200 litres of water per hectare with a MEDIUM quality spray.
SPOT TREATMENT: Apply 800mls HYGRASS-P in 20 litres water using a knapsack sprayer. Spray until foliage is completely wetted. A maximum of 5 litres HYGRASS-P may be applied as a spot treatment on each treated hectare.

Application and Timing
For economical control of broad-leaved weeds in grassland HYGRASS-P should be applied as a programme of sprays. In the first instance use HYGRASS-P as an overall spray, preferably in May and June when the weeds are actually growing. Perennials are best treated when the flower buds are visible, although the product will be most effective against docks in the seedling stages or during the early stages of regeneration from shoots. Established perennials are unlikely to be sufficiently checked by a single season of treatment.
A second spray should be used to treat re-growth in Summer or Autumn, generally between August and October. For isolated patches of weeds, HYGRASS-P may be used as a spot treatment and should be applied to completely wet the leaf surfaces until run-off. For long term reduction in docks, stinging nettles and thistles, treatment may have to be repeated in the following season.
Spray when growing conditions are good and there is a minimum of wind. Do NOT spray if there is sufficient wind to cause spray drift or if heavy rain is expected. Avoid drift onto all broadleaved plants outside the target area.
Spray at 100-500 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM quality spray (BCPC definition) and always use a minimum of 200 litres/hectare if the crop is dense or the weeds are large.

Mixing:
FILLING THE SPRAYER; half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Add the required quantity of Hyban-P and top up the tank with water.
WASH EQUIPMENT thoroughly with water and wetting agent or liquid detergent immediately after use. Spray out, fill with clean water and leave overnight. Spray out again before storing or using for another product. Traces of product can cause harm to susceptible crops sprayed later.
