HYSWARD P
General Weed control in sports turf, parks, cemeteries, airfields and other amenity grassland. Perennial weed control including docks and thistles in established grassland.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. HYSWARD-P may be applied at any time during the season, but ideally spraying should be carried out when the weeds are actively growing and the soil is moist. HYSWARD-P is not so effective under drought conditions. Optimum weed control comes from treatment early in the season, during May but timing should take into account the management practices, the locality and the season.

Restrictions:
AVOID drift onto all broad-leaved plants outside the target area.
Fields sprayed with HYSWARD-P should not be cut for hay or silage or grazed for at least 14 days after treatment. If poisonous weeds such as ragwort or hemlock are present, the treated field should not be cut for hay or silage, or grazed until they have disappeared or become unpalatable.
Do NOT use HYSWARD-P on temporary clover leys or where clover is an important constituent of the sward. Use AGRICHEM DB PLUS under such circumstances.
Other RESTRICTIONS apply. See under CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION

Following Crops:
Any crop may be sown after a crop treated with Hysward P.

Mixing:
FILLING THE SPRAYER;half fill the spray tank with clean water and start agitation. Add the required quantity of Hysward-P and top up the tank with water.

WASH EQUIPMENT thoroughly with water and a wetting agent or detergent immediately after use. Wash out again with clean water before using another product.

Crop Specific Information:
Agricultural Uses
Timing: For perennial weed control in established grazing land, or where grass is taken for silage or hay, HYSWARD-P should ideally be sprayed when the majority of weeds have reached the flower bud stage (just before flowering). The timing of the flower buds visible stage varies depending on the weed species (early in the season for species such as creeping buttercup, or later for weeds like thistles and docks). Weed re-growth after cutting for hay or silage should be at a similar stage before spraying.
Dose: Apply 5.0 litres, per hectare as an overall spray. Spot treatments can be carried out using 250ml in 10L water.
Water Volume: 220-550 litres for an overall spray.
Spray Quality:medium quality spray (BCPC definition)

RESTRICTIONS
Fields sprayed with HYSWARD P should not be cut for hay or silage or grazed for at least 14 days after treatment. If poisonous weeds such as Ragwort or Hemlock are present, the treated field should not be cut for hay or silage, or grazed until they have disappeared or become unpalatable.
DO NOT use HYSWARD P on temporary clover leys or where clover is an important constituent of the sward. Use Agrichem DB Plus under such circumstances.

WEED CONTROL
Docks (broad and curled): Seedlings killed and shoots from old rootstocks checked.
Stinging nettles: Top growth controlled at the young plant stage; some regrowth from roots may occur.
Creeping thistle: Shoots checked from young plant to flower buds visible stage.
Creeping buttercup: Checked at up to flower buds visible stage.
Daisy: Checked at up to flower buds visible stage.

The perennial weeds listed above may require a second treatment when any re-growth has sufficient leaves. Seedlings germinating after spraying are not controlled. Seedling = cotyledon to 2 true leaf stage.
Young plant = up to the 6 true leaf stage, or 50mm across or high.

Amenity Grassland and Managed Amenity Turf
Timing: Spraying may be carried out any time during the season providing that the weeds have been allowed to grow between mowings. A second treatment may be applied later in the season to control particularly heavy infestations, or the more resistant weeds. Hysward-P may be applied by knapsack sprayer where overall treatment is inappropriate, for example to control the re-growth of established perennial weeds. Allow 4-6 weeks between applications to enable weeds to develop sufficient foliage to maximise uptake of the treatment.
Dose: Apply up to 9 litres per hectare as an overall spray. Or use as a spot treatment containing 250mls in a minimum of 10 litres of water.
Water Volume And Spray Quality: As an overall spray, in 200-500 litres of water, at a maximum pressure of 2 bars, using a medium quality spray (BCPC definition) to reduce drift. As a spot treatment, see above. The higher volumes are most appropriate for closely mown swards, or where the weed population is very large or dense.

RESTRICTIONS
DO NOT CUT for 24 hours to allow the treatment to be absorbed, and preferably allow 2-3 days. DO NOT use on new grass for six months after establishment. DO NOT USE CUTTINGS as a mulch, however composted cuttings may be used 6 months after application. DO NOT spray on windy days to avoid drift. AVOID drift onto all broad-leaved plants outside the target area. DO NOT SPRAY when rain is imminent. DO NOT SPRAY during drought conditions, or when grass is otherwise under stress, such as following frost.

WEED CONTROL
HYSWARD-P controls the common turf weeds, Buttercup, Plantains, Common mouse ear and White clover at 7.5L/Ha.
The more resistant weeds, including well established perennials such as Daisy, Docks, Creeping thistle, and Nettles benefit from the full dose of 9L/Ha.
The level of kill of individual weeds is related to their stage of growth at the time of treatment
