A suspension concentrate containing 47 g/l (4.0% w/w) flutriafol and 300 g/l (25.0 % w/w) chlorothalonil
A fungicide for the control of Septoria Leaf Spot, Yellow and Brown Rusts, Powdery Mildew and Ear Diseases. Impact Excel combines the proven contact and systemic curative activity of flutriafol with the protectant properties of chlorothalonil for broad spectrum disease control.

Restrictions:
The maximum number of sprays of products containing flutriafol which may be applied to wheat is two.
Disease control may be reduced if strains of a pathogen less sensitive to Impact Excel develop. Mildew populations are now less sensitive to triazole fungicides
Impact Excel contains a DMI fungicide. Resistance to some DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further advice on resistance management in DMIs, contact your agronomist or specialist advisor and visit the Fungicide Resistance Action Group U.K. website.
On some varieties of wheat, particularly those with erect leaves, high crop transpiration under some conditions can result in flag leaf tip scorch. This may be increased following application of fungicides such as Impact Excel. This has not been shown to have a negative effect on yield or to reduce the benefits of disease control.

Directions for Use:
Diseases Controlled
Impact Excel is recommended for use on winter wheat for the control of the late diseases leaf spot (Septoria tritici/Mycosphaerella graminicola), powdery mildew, yellow rust, brown rust and the ‘late ear disease complex’. Generally, disease control and yield benefit will be optimal when application is made at an early stage of disease development.

Rate of Application
Apply 2 or 2.5 litres per hectare depending on disease pressure.

Application Timing
Impact Excel may be used at all growth stages up to before the ‘early milk’ stage (ZGS 73).
1. Leaf spot (Septoria tritici or Mycosphaerella graminicola) Apply when the disease is actively spreading up the crop. Optimum benefit will be gained when not more than 5% of the third leaf from the top of the plant is infected.
2. Yellow and Brown Rust (Puccinia striiformis and P.recondita). Apply when the diseases are first seen to be establishing in the crop. Optimum benefit will be gained when not more than 1% on any leaf is infected.
3. Powdery mildew (Erysiphe graminis) Optimum benefit will be gained when not more than 2% of the third leaf from the top of the plant is infected.
4. Late ear disease complex (Cladosporium, Fusarium spp, Alternaria and Botrytis). Treatment with Impact Excel will also give a reduction of these late ear diseases.

Mixing and Application
1. Preparation of Sprayer: Ensure that the sprayer is clean and correctly set to give even application at the required volume. Apply through conventional tractor-mounted spraying equipment as a medium quality spray.
2. Mixing Half fill the spray tank with clean water and begin agitation. Shake the container well before opening and use. Add the required quantity of Impact Excel to the spray tank and complete filling. Continue agitation until spray is completed.
3. Water volume Use at least 200 litres of water per hectare at a pressure of at least 2 bar. In dense crops increase the water volume to 250-300 litres per hectare to improve coverage.

Compatibility:
A wide range of plant protection products may be tank-mixed with Impact Excel at recommended rates of use. Consult your supplier for the latest recommendations. Alternatively, up-to-date compatibility information may be found at www.headland-ag.co.uk. Before using any tank-mixture, consult and comply with the recommendations for the partner product. Each product should be added separately to the bulk of the water in the spray tank and thoroughly mixed before adding the second chemical. Agitate during completion of filling and spray immediately.
