FORMULATION & ACTIVE INGREDIENT: INSEGAR is a water dispersible granule formulation containing 250 g/kg fenoxycarb.
TARGETS:An insect specific growth regulator for the control of summer fruit tortrix moth in apples and pears.
RAINFASTNESS: 1 hour.
NOTES
Always add INSEGAR WG to the spray tank first followed by any additional products. The user should ensure that all products to be tank mixed with INSEGAR WG are approved for use on the crops which are to be sprayed. Always refer to other manufacturers product information when mixing to ensure correct product use.
Regardless of the water volume used, the rate of INSEGAR WG should not exceed 0.6 kg per hectare.
DO NOT MIX INSEGAR WG WITH DURSBAN WG.
Syngenta DO NOT SUPPORT THE TANK MIXING OF ANY OTHER CARBAMATE INSECTICIDE WITH INSEGAR WG.
If rainfall occurs within one hour of the application of INSEGAR WG then the best advice from Syngenta is to apply a further half dose of INSEGAR WG as soon as possible.
Always use constant agitation of the sprayer tank during mixing, transportation and application.
Use plant protection products safely. Always read the label and product information before use.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT:
This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be carefully read in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

RESTRICTIONS
High risk to bees. Do not apply INSEGAR WG to crops in open flower or to those in which bees are actively foraging. Do not apply when flowering weeds are present.
CONSULT PROCESSORS BEFORE USE.

PESTS CONTROLLED
INSEGAR WG is a water dispersible granule containing 250g per kg fenoxycarb. It is an insect specic growth regulator for the control of summer fruit tortrix moth (Adoxophyes orana) in apples and pears. It acts by preventing the transformation of insect larvae to pupae. Because of the mode of action of fenoxycarb, INSEGAR WG does not give rapid knockdown of the summer fruit tortrix moth and therefore larvae continue to feed on the trees and fruits for a period after application.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
INSEGAR WG can be used on all varieties of apples and pears against tortrix moth.
SUMMER FRUIT TORTRIX MOTH
Timing
Treatment of summer fruit tortrix moth with INSEGAR WG should be made at the 5th instar stage of the pest and prior to pupation. This timing is best identified by the use of pest warnings; consult your specialist advisor for further information and advice. Where these warnings are not available, the following gives the best advice:
On apples, the first spray should usually be made shortly before flowering and a second spray, when required, should be made immediately after petal fall.
On pears, one or two sprays should be applied. The first spray should be applied at the fruitlet stage. This usually coincides with the time of apple flowering. The second spray, when required, should be applied 2–3 weeks later.

Dose and Spray Volume
Apply INSEGAR WG in a minimum of 200 litres and a maximum of 1500 litres of water/ha (optimum volume is in the range 500–1500 litres per hectare). It is important that an adequate water volume is used to ensure complete coverage of the leaves.
INSEGAR WG should be applied at a rate of 40 g per 100 litres of spray solution, with an application volume appropriate to the tree size to ensure good coverage.
If spray volumes are reduced below 500 litres per hectare, spray concentration must be adjusted to ensure a minimum individual dose of at least 0.2 kg INSEGAR WG per hectare. The 0.2 kg rate of INSEGAR WG should only be used on trees of 1 metre high or less.

Regardless of the water volume used the rate of INSEGAR WG should not exceed 0.6 kg per hectare i.e.
Water volume: 200–1500 litres/ha
Dilution: 40 g/100 litres spray solution (for volumes 500–1500 litres)
Min dose: 200 g per ha
Max dose: 600 g per ha

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Make sure the sprayer is set to give an even application at the correct volume. In all cases add INSEGAR WG to the spray tank first, followed by any additional products.
Dry Mixing – Sprayers with Induction Hoppers
Fill sprayer to 15% of tank capacity with water and start agitation. Pour INSEGAR WG into the induction hopper and open valve in bottom of hopper to suck the granules into the circulating spray mix. Continue adding INSEGAR WG until loading is complete. Wash down any granules on the hopper wall and close valve.
Note for old sprayers with indirect venturi induction hoppers
In the unlikely event of problems occurring during dry induction of the granules (blocked venturi), open the rinse ring and add water to the hopper. As soon as product induction continues, carry on adding product until the required amount is reached.
Sprayers Without Induction Hoppers
Fill sprayer with a minimum of 15 cm of water in the bottom and agitate vigorously. Pour INSEGAR WG through the tank lid and then add the remainder of water. Agitate the mixture thoroughly before use and continue agitation during the spraying operation. Thoroughly wash all spray equipment with water after use.
