KINVARA is an agricultural herbicide for the control of annual and perennial weeds in cereals and grassland. It consists of a mixture of three active substances, each mimicking the activity of auxin – indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), but with slightly different spectra of activity, thus the mixture gives a broader range of weed control than any of the actives used individually.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Broad-leaved weeds not present at application will not be controlled.
Do not apply if night temperatures are low, if ground frost is imminent, or in periods of prolonged cold or dry weather. Ensure weeds are actively growing as after periods of prolonged drought, weeds can take a long time to start actively growing again after soil moisture returns.
Do not use any plant material treated with Kinvara for composting or mulching.

Restrictions
KINVARA must not be applied to any crop suffering from stress as a result of drought, waterlogging, low temperatures, pest or disease attack, nutrient or lime deficiency or other factors reducing crop growth.
No negative impacts of KINVARA on non-target plants in off-crop areas are expected if product is applied within a 10m buffer zone or if used with 90% drift reducing nozzles.

Where ragwort is present users should consult the Code of Practice on How to Prevent the Spread of Ragwort. Ragwort plants sprayed with this herbicide are more palatable and contain higher levels of toxins. Animals should be excluded from treated areas until any ragwort has completely recovered or died and there is no visible sign of the dead weed.
Some phytotoxicity symptoms might appear (chlorosis, growth inhibition, vigour loss) but these symptoms should usually be transient and have no impact on yield.
Do not apply Kinvara on crops grown for seed

Mixing
Pour the required quantity of KINVARA into the spray tank already half-filled with water and under agitation. Top up the spray tank with water to the required level. Maintain agitation during spraying and until the tank is sprayed out.

Application (BCPC definitions)
Apply to dry foliage. Do not spray if rain is imminent. Take extreme care to avoid spray drift onto non-target crops or areas, particularly sensitive crops such as Brassica vegetables and lettuce.
Avoid overlapping spray swaths.
