A water dispersible granule (WG) formulation containing 37.5% w/w fluazinam and 25.0% w/w cymoxanil. An agricultural fungicide for the control of late foliar blight (Phytophthora infestans) and protection against tuber blight in potatoes.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Disease Resistance
KUNSHI contains a mixture of cymoxanil (a cyanoacetamide-oxime fungicide) and fluazinam (a 2,6-dinitro-aniline fungicide). The multi-site activity of KUNSHI and the fact of combining 2 substances with different modes of action mean that resistance in Phytophthora infestans populations is not likely to develop. The use of KUNSHI in blight spray programmes is therefore useful as part of an anti-resistance strategy.
When fungicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly over several years in the same field, naturally occurring less sensitive strains may survive, propagate and become dominant in that field. It is therefore advised that wherever possible spray programmes should include fungicides with differing modes of action. KUNSHI contains active substances with two different modes of action. The use of KUNSHI in blight spray programmes is therefore useful as part of an anti-resistance strategy. For further advice on resistance management for potato blight (Phytophthora infestans) contact your agronomist or specialist advisor and/or visit the FRAG-UK and Potato Council websites.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
KUNSHI is an agricultural fungicide for the control of foliar blight (Phytophthora infestans) and protection against tuber blight in potatoes.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Timing
Initial Application
KUNSHI is a protectant fungicide and therefore the spray programme must start BEFORE blight enters the crop.
Irrespective of the crop growth stage, commence spraying as soon as an official blight warning has been issued or when local weather conditions are favourable for the infection of the disease, whichever is the sooner. Otherwise, in the absence of weather conducive to disease development, the first application should be made as soon as plants meet in the row (approximately 15-30 cm high).
Repeat Applications
Intervals between applications of KUNSHI should be reduced as blight risk increases, so that protection of the crop can be maintained, as follows:
Risk situation:Low

N.B. Potato blight fungicides may not give complete protection when the disease risk is severe. However, disease development will be delayed with a well-timed spray programme.
Up to eight (music) applications of KUNSHI may be made to a crop.
Avoid spraying within 5m of the field boundary to reduce the effects on non-target insects or other arthropods.

For protection against Tuber Blight
To reduce the risk of problems with tuber blight at harvest KUNSHI should be used regularly at the recommended intervals from full canopy development to pre-harvest interval or complete haulm desiccation, when possible.

Rates of Use Apply
400-500g/ha of KUNSHI at each treatment dependent upon blight pressure.

Crops grown for processing
On crops grown for processing, consult processor before use.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
Apply KUNSHI in 200 to 500 litres of water per hectare. Use adequate water to ensure complete coverage of the foliage and stems, increasing the volume as haulm growth progresses, particularly in dense crops and under high or severe blight risk conditions.
Ensure spraying is carried out under good conditions and avoid spray drift onto non-target plants and crops.
Apply to dry foliage. DO NOT apply if rain or irrigation is imminent.

Application Details
Application Equipment: Apply KUNSHI through tractor drawn or mounted, conventional hydraulic crop spraying equipment.
Sprayer Preparation: Ensure that the sprayer is clean and calibrated correctly, to give even application. Apply at the recommended water volumes, appropriate for the density of the crop, using a MEDIUM quality spray (as defined by British Crop Protection Council guidelines) ensuring good coverage of the foliage.
Spray Pressure: at least 2 bar.
Mixing: Before mixing KUNSHI, first part fill the spray tank with clean water and commence agitation. Then, open the KUNSHI container and add the required amount of product to the sprayer using a filling device (e.g. induction bowl, probe etc), or otherwise by direct addition to the spray tank.
Wash out the empty container thoroughly and add washings to the sprayer. Preferably use an integrated pressure rinsing device: otherwise manually rinse the container two to three times. DO NOT RE-USE CONTAINER FOR ANY PURPOSE.
Agitate spray tank contents thoroughly whilst filling and throughout the spraying operation.
Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods (such as during meal-breaks or overnight).
Never prepare more spray than is required.
Tank cleaning: Wash measuring and spray equipment thoroughly after use.
THIS PRODUCT IS TO BE USED ONLY IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN ON THE LABEL PROVIDED WITH THIS PACK. USE IN ANY OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES IS ENTIRELY AT THE USER’S RISK.
