This information is approved as part of the Product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. The recommended mixes combine the activity of LIETO with the protectant activity of mancozeb, fluazinam or cyazofamid.

 

LIETO is recommended for the use as a fungicide in the field for post-emergence application (BBCH 21-89) to potato infested with Late blight (Phytophthora infestans).

LIETO is a systemic fungicide with protective and curative action.

 

 

Apply LIETO at 0.45 kg/hectare in 200-500 litres of water per hectare. Apply as a MEDIUM quality spray as defined in the BCPC system.

Maximum total dose per crop: 2.7 kg/ha.

Under high disease pressure a tank mix of LIETO with a protectant fungicide product can be particularly effective.

 

Apply 0.45 kg LIETO plus 2.0 kg DITHANE NT or other products containing mancozeb in at least 200 litres of water per hectacre.

 

Apply 0.45 kg LIETO plus 0.3 L SHIRLAN or other products containing fluazinam in at least 200 litres of water per hectacre.

 

Apply 0.45 kg LIETO plus 0.1 L RANMAN TP or other products containing cyazofamid in at least 200 litres of water per hectacre.

 

LIETO should be applied as part of a repeat spray programme at 7 day intervals.

LIETO must be used preventatively starting applications of Lieto as soon as there is a risk of blight infection, or an official blight warning has been issued.

In the absence of any warnings applications should start before crops meet within the rows.

The spray interval may be reduced to a minimum of 5 days under high disease pressure or where variable weather conditions put maintaining the timing of the spray programme at risk.

A maximum of 6 applications may be applied to the crop.

 

There are no restrictions on following crops.

 

Shake well before use. Half fill the spray tank with clean water and add the required quantity of LIETO while maintaining constant agitation. Add the remaining water and continue agitation during spray application.

 

Potato blight is considered to be a disease with a moderate to high risk of developing resistance to fungicides. To reduce risk of resistance developing LIETO should be applied in single or block applications in alternation with other fungicides of a different fungicide resistance group. Protect from frost.
