For the Control of Grassweeds and Broad-leaved Weeds in Oilseed Rape
Best Use Advice
Use full rate of 1.0 kg/ha for difficult blackgrass situations
Can be applied at 0.6 kg/ha o r 0.9 kg/ha to suit weed size and spectrum (see table below)
Only use the 0.6 kg/ha rate when a specific graminicide has controlled volunteer cereals and chickweed is not a problem
Menace 80EDF is best applied when soil temperatures at 30 cm reach 10°C and are falling and where there is sufficient moisture in the soil surface layer for plsnt uptake
Do not make more than one applicationo/ Menace 80EDF within 9 months to the same a rea of land
Menace 880 EDF s hould not be us ed con soils containing >10% organic matter - Ta avoid run-of/, afrplisstions should be made to a firm clod-free seedbed.

Water Protection: Ensure at least 4 of the following are met before application.

Field drains not running and not likely for 7 days or no field drains
 Field slope less than 5%
Mot bordered by a watercourse or field has a 6m grass bsffer strip
Mot sub-soi led below pi ough layer
Mot mole drained in the past 6 months
Mo risk of rain in the next 48 hours

TANK MIXING
Where populations of blackgrass and/or volunteer cereals exceed 50 per mb apply Menace 80EDF as part of a programme following or in tank mix with an effective approved gramini cide, e.g. Lasen at 1.0 L/h a

KEY BENEFITS

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

WARNINGS
Take care to avoid local overdosing.
Do not make more than one application of MENACE 80EDF within 9 months to the same area of land.

SOIL TYPES
MENACE 80EDF can be used on all soil types with the following exceptions:
1.  Do not use on soils containing more than 10% organic matter.
2.  Do not use on strawberries or winter field beans grown in certain soil types. See RECOMMENDATIONS.

SOIL TEXTURE (85 System)
Textural Group                   Textural class
Sands                                    Coarse sand, Sand, Fine sand, Loamy coarse sand
Very Light Soils                      Loamy sand, Loamy fine sand, Coarse sandy loam
Light Soils                             Sandy loam, Fine sandy loam, Sandy silt loam, Silt loam (85)
Medium Soils                         Sandy clay loam, Clay loam, Silty clay loam
Heavy Soils                            Sandy clay, Clay, Silty clay

WEATHER AND SOIL CONDITIONS
MENACE 80EDF requires moisture for root uptake. Best residual action is obtained in moist soils of fine tilth.
MENACE 80EDF can be applied under frosty conditions but should not be used where run-off from the soil surface is likely.
Best results are achieved when growth of weeds (especially blackgrass and volunteer cereals) is slow, but transpiration continues. In mild autumns/winters, emerged weeds may take longer to be controlled, the residual activity of MENACE 80EDF will be shortened and overall control may be reduced.
The efficacy of MENACE 80EDF may be reduced in organic soils and in the presence of excessive surface organic debris, burnt straw, ash, or ploughed-up turf. In winter field beans ensure a firm seedbed before spraying.

RESISTANCE
Strains of some annual grasses (e.g. blackgrass, wild oats, Italian ryegrass) have developed resistance to herbicides which may lead to poor control. A strategy for preventing and managing such resistance should be adopted. Guidelines have been produced by the Weed Resistance Action Group and copies are available from the HGCA, CPA, your distributor, crop adviser or product manufacturer.

CROP INFORMATION
Note: Specific application information for each crop is contained in the Crop Recommendation Tables that follow.

 MIXING
Add half the required volume of water to the spray tank and begin agitation. Remove the filter basket and pour the required amount of MENACE 80 EDF into the partially filled spray tank. Agitate while topping up the tank and continue agitation until spraying is complete. When tank mixing with other products add the MENACE 80EDF after the other product has already dispersed in the spray tank.
Thoroughly wash all spraying and measuring equipment with water immediately after use.
