An emulsifiable concentrate containing 250 g/L trinexapac-ethyl. A plant growth regulator for crop height reduction which can lead to lodging control and yield protection in winter wheat, winter and spring barley, winter and spring oats, rye and triticale.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Important
This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Restrictions
Avoid spray drift onto neighbouring crops.
Only use on crops at risk of lodging.
Do not apply if rain or frost is expected or if the crop is wet.
Do not spray crops under stress or to crops suffering from waterlogging, pest attack, disease or frost or high daily temperatures.
Do not use on crops intended for seed production.

General information
MODAN is an emulsifiable concentrate formulation containing 250 g/L trinexapac-ethyl. It is a growth regulator for crop height reduction which can lead to lodging control of cereals, which can lead to yield protection in winter wheat, winter and spring barley, winter and spring oat, rye and triticale. MODAN is applied as a foliar spray, post-emergence, and is translocated to the growing shoot. MODAN decreases plant height by reducing the length of the internodes. The shortening of the internodes combined with a higher density of the plant tissue results in improved stem stiffness which reduces potential risk of lodging.

Soil
MODAN can be used on all soil types.

 Application and water volume
Apply the recommended rate of MODAN in 200 to 400 L/ha water using suitable ground equipment. Use a conventional field crop sprayer at a pressure of 2-3 bars and apply a MEDIUM spray (as defined by BCPC). Take particular care to avoid over-lapping spray swaths.

Mixing
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start the re-circulation system. Pour the required quantity of product into the spray tank and continue agitation. Top up the spray tank with water to the required level. Continue agitation until spraying is completed. Spray immediately after mixing.

Crops
MODAN can be used on oats, spring barley, winter barley, rye, winter wheat and triticale.

Timing
Apply MODAN to oats and spring barley between the pseudo stem erect stage up to and including the flag leaf just visible stage. Apply MODAN to winter barley, winter wheat, triticale and rye between the pseudo stem erect stage up to and including the flag leaf ligule/collar just visible stage. Transient symptoms of phototoxicity may occur. Treatment may lead to ears remaining erect through to harvest.

Dose
Apply MODAN at 0.4 litres/hectare in oats, spring barley, rye and winter wheat and at 0.6 L/ha in winter barley and triticale.

Subsequent cropping
All crops can be cultivated on fields where MODAN was applied.

Spray tank clean-out
It is important that the spray tank, boom, hoses, filters and nozzles are thoroughly washed out to remove all traces of MODAN immediately after spraying and before the sprayer is used again:
1. Drain sprayer completely, then wash out tank boom and hoses with clean water. Drain again.
2. Fill the tank with clean water. Flush through the boom and hoses then leave the sprayer for 10 minutes with agitation on. Then drain completely.
3. Flush the tank, boom and hoses with clean water twice.
Ensure any spray contamination on the outside of the sprayer is removed by washing in clean water.
