FORMULATION AND ACTIVE INGREDIENT: A water dispersible granule formulation (WG) containing 4.5% w/w cymoxanil and 68% w/w mancozeb. A fungicide for the control of potato foliar late blight

Other specific restriction:
A minimum interval of 7 days must be observed between applications. This product qualifies for inclusion with the Local Environment Risk Assessment for Pesticides (LERAP) scheme. Before each spraying operation from a horizontal boom sprayer, either a LERAP must be carried out in accordance with CRD’s published guidance or the statutory buffer zone must be maintained. The results of the LERAP must be recorded and kept available for three years.

RESTRICTIONS/WARNINGS
Allow a minimum of 7 days between applications.
Do not allow packs to become wet during storage.
Do not keep opened packs from one season to another as this may reduce the effectiveness of the fungicide and may create vapours that may be flammable.  Keep away from fire or sparks.

RESISTANCE:
When fungicides with the same mode of action are used repeatedly over several years in the same field, naturally occurring less sensitive strains may survive, propagate and become dominant in that field. It is therefore advised that wherever possible spray programs should include fungicides with differing modes of action. For further information please refer to UK-FRAG guidance on managing resistance in Potato late blight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
PROFILUX combines the local systemic action of cymoxanil and the protectant activity of mancozeb for the control of foliar late blight (Phytophthora infestans) of potatoes. PROFILUX can be used on all varieties of early and maincrop potatoes. On crops grown for processing consult your processor before use.

TIMING OF APPLICATION:
Timing of spray applications should take into account the normal prevalence of the disease in the area and conditions in the particular season. The first spray should be applied as soon as there is a risk of foliar late blight infection or an official warning has been issued. In the absence of a warning, spraying should begin just before the crop meets along the rows.
Applications should be repeated at 10 – 14 day intervals depending on the prevalence of the disease and favourable conditions for infection. A 7 day spray interval may be used under exceptional circumstances e.g. foliar late blight risk is already high and rain is forecast at the time the next 10 day spray is due. The longer interval is recommended under dry conditions. Irrigation of crops increases the risk of foliar late blight and crops should always be sprayed with PROFILUX as soon as possible after irrigation subject to the minimum spray interval of 7 days. Irrigated crops should normally be sprayed at 10 day intervals. High-risk situations include conditions of rapid growth, irrigated crops, areas of intensive potato growing, particularly foliar late blight-sensitive varieties, when further warnings are issued, or when active foliar late blight is in the area.

DOSE:
Apply PROFILUX at 2 kg/ha. Where conditions or forecasting indicate high disease pressure, a rate of 2.5 kg/ha is recommended. Maximum number of treatments: 6 per crop.
Latest time of application: 7 days before harvest.

VOLUME AND SPRAY QUALITY:
Apply PROFILUX in no less than 200 litres of water per hectare as a MEDIUM quality spray (as defined by BCPC).
ADVISORY NOTE: Avoid spraying within 5m of the field boundary to reduce effects on nontarget insects and other arthropods.

MIXING:
PROFILUX mixes easily with water, but the following mixing procedure should be followed: Quarter fill the spray tank with water and start the agitation. Slowly add the required quantity of PROFILUX directly to the tank. Continue agitation while topping up the tank and while spraying.
