DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Important: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section should be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
A systemic fungicide for use in Winter wheat, Spring wheat, Winter barley, Spring barley, Triticale, Rye and Oats and in Sugar beet and Fodder beet

Restrictions/Warnings
This product may cause damage to broad-leaved plant species.
Avoid spray drift on to neighbouring crops.
Wash equipment thoroughly after use.
Epoxiconazole is accepted by BRI/BBPA for application to malting Barley but applications must be made before ear emergence.
When applied to barley intended for malting, refer to the latest timing restrictions for epoxiconazole given by the British Beer and Pub association.
Do not use on sugar beet fodder beet crops grown for seed production.

Crops
A systemic fungicide for use in Winter wheat, Spring wheat, Winter barley, Spring barley, Triticale, Rye and Oats and in Sugar beet and Fodder beet.

Disease control
RUBRIC is a systemic fungicide with protectant and curative properties for the control of powdery mildew, brown and yellow rusts, Septoria tritici and Septoria nodorum on Winter and Spring wheat and Triticale; powdery mildew, Rhyncosporium, net blotch (moderate control) and brown and yellow rusts on Winter and Spring barley; powdery mildew, Rhyncosporium and brown and yellow rusts on Rye; and powdery mildew on Oats.
RUBRIC also provides good reduction of Fusarium ear blight and reduction of sooty moulds (Cladosporium, Botrytis) on the ears of Winter and Spring wheat.
RUBRIC provides moderate control of powdery mildew, Ramularia leaf spot and Cercospora leaf spot in Sugar and Fodder beet

Rate and Time of Application
Winter wheat, Spring wheat, Rye & Triticale:
Rate of Application: 1 litre per hectare.
Time of Application: Apply at the start of foliar disease attack.
A maximum of 2 litres of product /ha/crop can be made up to and including ‘flowering just complete’ stage. A minimum interval of 21 days must be observed between treatments.
For control of Septoria, treatment should normally be made after the ‘third node detectable’ stage when weather favouring disease development has occurred. A follow-up treatment may be necessary if conditions continue to favour disease development.
For protection against Fusarium ear blight and sooty mould on the ears of winter and spring wheat, apply RUBRIC during emergence.
For a quicker clean-up of any mildew established at the time of application, apply RUBRIC in a tank mix with an approved formulation of fenpropimorph at the following dose:
1 litre of RUBRIC + 0.5 litre of fenpropimorph (375 g active ingredient/ha) per hectare.

Winter barley, Spring barley, Oats:
Rate of Application: 1 litre per hectare.
Time of Application: Apply at the start of foliar disease attack.
A maximum of two applications can be made up to and including ‘emergence of ear just complete’ stage. A minimum interval of 21 days must be observed between treatments.

Sugar beet and Fodder beet
Rate of Application: 0.75 litres per hectare
Time of Application: Apply to sugar beet after BBCH 39 and when crop cover is complete, i.e. when: >90% of plants meet between the rows. the latest time of application may be up to BBCH 49 but must be at least 28 days before harvest. A repeat application can be made (if necessary) 28 days after the first application. Do not make more than two applications per crop.
Do not use on sugar beet or fodder beet crops grown for seed production.

Resistance
Strains of certain cereal diseases with decreased sensitivity to triazole fungicides are known to exist in the UK. Where these occur or develop Rubric may not give satisfactory control.
Rubric contains a DMI fungicide. Resistance to some DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further advice on resistance management in DMIs, contact your agronomist or specialist advisor and visit the Fungicide Resistance Action Group (FRAG) UK website.

Mixing and Spraying
Apply Rubric in a minimum of 200 litres of water per hectare.
Apply as a MEDIUM spray, as defined by BCPC
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start the agitation. Shake the container well before use and pour in the required amount of product. Rinse empty containers thoroughly and add rinsings to the spray tank. Add the remainder of the water and continue agitation until spraying is completed.
When tank mixes are to be used, each product should be added separately to the spray tank, taking due note of any instructions given as to the order of mixing.

Compatibility
For information on tank mixing please contact your Headland distributor or refer to the Headland web-site (www.headland-ag.co.uk).
The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (CoSHH) may apply to the use of this product at work.
