A fungicide for the control of stem-base, foliar and ear diseases in winter and spring wheat, triticale and winter rye and for disease control in winter oilseed rape.

In cereal crops Skyway 285 Xpro can increase chlorophyll content/photosynthesis in treated plants, and extend duration of green leaf area retention, for yield increases above that resulting from disease control alone.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.
Skyway 285 Xpro is a mixture of bixafen (a SDH inhibitor), prothioconazole (a triazolinthione fungicide) and tebuconozole (a triazole), fungicides recommended for control of a wide range of diseases on winter and spring wheat, winter rye, triticale and winter oilseed rape.
PROTECT FROM FROST

CROPS
Skyway 285 Xpro may be used on all commercial varieties of winter and spring wheat, triticale, winter rye and winter oilseed rape.

RATE OF USE
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at:
1.25 litre per hectare in winter and spring wheat, triticale and winter rye.
1.0 litre per hectare in oilseed rape.
The maximum number of treatments is two per crop.

APPLICATION
Water volume
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro in 100-300 litres of water per hectare. The higher spray volumes are recommended where the crop is dense or disease pressure / risk is high to ensure good penetration
to the lower leaves and stem bases. Disease control may be compromised by reducing water volumes, where good spraycoverage is difficult to achieve.
A spray pressure of 2-3 bar is recommended.

Spray quality
Apply as a MEDIUM spray quality (as defined by BCPC).

Latest Permitted Timing
In wheat, triticale and winter rye Skyway 285 Xpro may be applied at any stage before grain milky ripe stage. In oilseed rape apply Skyway 285 Xpro up to 56 days before harvest.

Mixing
Thoroughly shake the pack before use.
Add the required quantity of Skyway 285 Xpro to the half-filled spray tank with the agitation system in operation and then fill to the required level. Continue agitation at all times during spraying and
stoppages until the tank is completely empty. Spray immediately after mixing.

General
Sprayers should be thoroughly cleaned with water and detergent after use, and filters and jets checked for damage and blockages. Boom height should be adjusted to ensure even coverage of the
crop, particularly at later growth stages. The correct height is one at which the spray from alternate nozzles meets just above the crop, In dense crops, at later growth stages, higher water volumes should be used.

DISEASES CONTROLLED
Wheat and triticale
Eyespot (wheat only - reduction of the incidence and severity), Septoria (leaf and glume blotch), powdery mildew, yellow rust, brown rust, tan spot (in wheat), ear disease complex (Fusarium ear blight) and reduction of sooty moulds.

Rye
Powdery mildew, brown rust, Rhynchosporium.

Winter oilseed rape
Light leaf spot, Phoma leaf spot and stem canker, Scelorotinia stem rot.

APPLICATION TIMING
In cereal crops Skyway 285 Xpro can increase chlorophyll content/ photosynthesis in treated plants and extend duration of green leaf area retention, for yield increases above that resulting from disease control alone.

Eyespot (Oculimacula spp.)
Spray in the spring at the first sign of disease, from when the leaf sheaths begin to become erect until the 2nd node is detectable (GS 30-32).

Septoria Leaf Blotch and Glume Blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola and Stagonospora nodorum)
Apply before disease is established in the crop. To protect the upper leaves and ear apply Skyway 285 Xpro at full flag leaf emergence (GS 37) up to mid-flowering (GS 65). Where disease pressure
remains high application may be repeated.
Applications to upper leaves where S. tritici symptoms are present are likely to be less effective.
Skyway 285 Xpro contains two DMI fungicides. Resistance to some DMI fungicides has been identified in Septoria leaf blotch (Mycosphaerella graminicola) which may seriously affect the performance of some products. For further advice on resistance management in DMI’s contact your agronomist or specialist advisor, and visit the FRAG-UK website.

Powdery Mildew (Blumeria graminis)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at the first signs of disease. Where disease pressure remains high application may be repeated.

Yellow Rust (Puccinia striiformis)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at the first signs of disease. A second application may be made 2-3 weeks later if re-infection occurs. Applications made to established infections are likely to be less effective.

Brown Rust (Puccinia triticina, P. recondita)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at the first signs of disease. A second application may be made 2-3 weeks later if re-infection occurs. Applications made to established infections are likely to be less effective.

Tan Spot (Pyrenophora tritici-repentis)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at the first signs of disease in spring or early summer. Where disease pressure remains high application may be repeated.

Ear Disease Complex
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro soon after ear emergence until the end of flowering (GS59-69) for control of Fusarium ear blight in wheat and reduction of sooty moulds. Control of ear diseases can result
in cleaner, brighter ears.

Leaf Blotch (Rhynchosporium secalis)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro in spring at the first signs of disease. For severe infections a second application may be necessary 2-3 weeks later.

WINTER OILSEED RAPE
Depending upon disease pressure and choice of disease management programme one application of Skyway 285 Xpro may be made in the autumn followed a second in the spring/summer. Alternatively two applications may be made in the spring/summer.

Light Leaf Spot
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro protectively in autumn/winter (usually late October to early December) after the first two leaves have unfolded. Follow up spray(s) may be required in late winter/early spring from the onset of stem elongation, depending on disease development. The second application of Skyway 285 Xpro to oilseed rape must not be made prior to BBCH 21.

Phoma Leaf spot/Stem Canker
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro in the autumn (after the first two leaves have unfolded) at the first sign of disease. Follow up spray(s) with another effective product may be required if disease symptoms
reoccur.

Sclerotinia stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum)
Apply Skyway 285 Xpro at early to full flower

Spring oilseed rape (QUALIFIED MINOR USE RECOMMENDATION)
Skyway 285 Xpro can also be used on varieties of spring oilseed rape but crop safety has not been fully established.

RESISTANCE STRATEGY
Tank-mixtures or alternation with fungicides having a different mode of action against the diseases present have been shown to protect against the development of resistant forms of disease.
No more than two applications of SDH inhibitors must be applied to the same cereal crop.
Strains of light leaf spot resistant to azole fungicides are known to exist. To avoid development of resistance apply product protectively in response to disease forecasts. Where possible, when light leaf spot is present, avoid the use of azole based fungicides when targeting other diseases such as Sclerotinia at mid flowering.’
Bixafen is a SDH inhibitor, prothioconazole a triazolinthione (triazole) and tebuconazole is a triazole.

CAUTION: The possible development of disease strains resistant to Skyway 285 Xpro cannot be excluded or predicted. Where such resistant strains occur, Skyway 285 Xpro is unlikely to give satisfactory control.
