A selective herbicide for control of broad-leaved weeds.
Contains 400 g/l (33.6% w/w) 2,4-DB as the sodium salt.

Crops:
Winter and Spring Wheat, Barley and Oats, Winter and Spring Wheat Barley and Oats undersown with Red or White Clover or Lucerne, established Grassland and newly-sown grass and swards containing mixtures of grasses and Clovers or Lucerne.

Introduction:
Applications of HEADLAND SPRUCE may be made to all commercially available varieties of Winter and Spring sown Wheat, Barley and Oats, all varieties of Winter and Spring Sown Wheat Barley and Oats undersown with Red or White Clover or Lucerne. It may also be applied to both newly-sown and established Grassland, Red and White Clover, Lucerne (alfalfa) and swards containing a mixture of grasses and Clover or Lucerne. HEADLAND SPRUCE is not recommended for use on Rye.
Annual weeds will be best controlled if spraying is done while the majority of weeds are seedlings. Biennial and perennial weeds should be sprayed during their period of maximum growth - usually when the flower buds are beginning to form. The response of perennial weeds to treatment is often variable with only the aerial parts killed though suppression will often occur. The recovery of weeds will be reduced if the crop is growing vigorously at the time of treatment.

Restrictions:
DO NOT sow any crop into soil treated with HEADLAND SPRUCE for at least 3 months after application.
DO NOT roll, harrow or cut crops within seven days before or after spraying.
DO NOT graze crops within a week before or two weeks after spraying.
DO NOT apply during cold weather or drought.
DO NOT apply during rain or if rain is expected.
DO NOT spray in windy weather and avoid drift onto broad-leaved plants outside the target area. HEADLAND SPRUCE is active at low concentrations.
The following crops are particularly susceptible to spray drift: Beet, Brassicae (eg Turnips, Swedes, Oilseed Rape) and most market garden crops including Lettuce and Tomatoes under glass, Pears and Vines.
DO NOT use HEADLAND SPRUCE immediately before or after sowing any crop.

Water Volume:
Apply in 200 to 400 l/ha of water.
Use a minimum rate of 225 l/ha in dense stands of cereals or if weed growth is dense.

Spray quality:
Apply as a medium quality spray (as defined by BCPC). A spray pressure of 2-3 bar is recommended.
Timing of application: HEADLAND SPRUCE should be applied when the crop is actively growing and is at the correct growth stage.
The best results will be obtained if spraying is done while the majority of weeds are seedlings.

Mixing:
Apply using a conventional ground vehicle mounted/drawn equipment.
Ensure that all application equipment is clean. Add half the required volume of water and start agitation, add the required quantity of HEADLAND SPRUCE.
Fill the tank to the required volume of water whilst maintaining agitation.
Continuous agitation must be maintained until spraying is complete.
After use, the spraying machine must be thoroughly cleaned.
Wash equipment thoroughly with water and wetting agent or liquid detergent immediately after use.
Spray out, fill with clean water and leave overnight. Spray out again before storing or using for another product. Traces of HEADLAND SPRUCE can cause harm to susceptible crops sprayed later.
