DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product. STROLLER is a residual amide herbicide for use in a wide range of crops. STROLLER requires adequate soil moisture to allow uptake via the roots and gives the best residual control when seedbeds are moist and of a fine tilth. Best weed control will be achieved when weeds, especially black-grass and volunteer cereals, are growing only slowly due to cool conditions. Under mild autumn and winter conditions the residual activity of STROLLER will be reduced, control of emerged weeds will be slower and overall control may be less. In the presence of significant quantities of organic matter such as ploughed up grassland or excessive surface trash, burnt straw or ash the activity will also be reduced.

RESTRICTIONS
When applying STROLLER, ensure that no localised over-dosing occurs. Do not overlap spray swathes
Only one application of STROLLER should be applied to any area of land within a 9 month period.
Do not use on soils containing more than 10% organic matter.
Note the additional soil type limitations that apply when treating winter field beans or strawberries – see recommendations below.
It can be used under frosty conditions but should not be applied when run-off from the soil surface may occur – e.g. frozen soils.
Whilst no taints have been detected in treated field-grown crops, when growing crops for processing you should consult the processor before use.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS
Shake the container before use. Place half the required amount of clean water in the spray tank and commence agitation. Add the required amount of STROLLER via the filter basket. Rinse all used containers thoroughly and add the washings to the spray tank. Add the remaining water requirement and continue agitation during spraying. Do not allow the spray mixture to stand. Immediately after use wash sprayer and other equipment thoroughly with water and detergent. Dispose of empty rinsed containers according to the MAPP/HSE Code of Practice for the Safe Use of Pesticides on Farms and Holdings.

Tank Mixes
STROLLER can be tank mixed with a range of other products. If using tank mixes, unless directed otherwise the preferred order of addition of products to the tank is: water dispersible granules, wettable powders, suspension concentrates (flowables), emulsifiable concentrates, solution concentrates. Each product must be added to a half-full sprayer and be fully dispersed before the addition of the next product.Tank mixes must only be applied within the label recommendations of every product in the mix. Contact Agchem Access Ltd. for compatibility information on specific tank mixes. Manufacturer’s instructions must be followed for each tank-mix component.

Water Volume
Apply STROLLER in 200 - 1000 litres of water per hectare and ensure good coverage of the soil surface. For amenity vegetation and forest, forest nursery, farm forestry and hedgerows, increase the water volume to 400 – 1000 L/ha to improve coverage.

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Winter oilseed rape, brassicas grown for seed (fodder rape, kale & turnip), red & white clover and lucerne: Winter oilseed rape and the seed crops listed above may be treated with 1.75 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st January once the crop has 3 expanded true leaves. Treatment of Lucerne and clover grown for seed should only be to crops established for at least one season and, for lucerne, not less than 7 days after the last cut. Soils should have less than 10% organic matter and seedbeds should be fine and firm to ensure physical separation of STROLLER and crop roots in the soil profile. Conditions that encourage shallow rooting may adversely affect crop selectivity. The following tables list the susceptibility of weeds at three growth stages – germinating, up to 2 true leaves and established plants.

Resistance
Some strains of black-grass, wild oats and Italian ryegrass have developed resistance to some of the herbicides used to control them and this can lead to poor control. A strategy for reducing the risk of resistance or managing it where it has already occurred should be adopted and guidelines have been produced by the Weed Resistance Action Group. Copies of these guidelines may be obtained from a variety of sources – HGCA, your distributor, crop advisor or from chemical manufacturers. Grass weed resistance is the subject of continued research and populations may be tested for their sensitivity to herbicides. There are two types of resistance known – target site resistance which results in loss of activity from the ‘fop & dim’ class of graminicides and enhanced metabolic resistance which affects a wider range of compounds. This later type of resistance may vary in severity and is classed as R, RR or RRR. Where resistance to a partner graminicide is only partial (i.e. R or RR) or where STROLLER is applied early in the season when conditions are warm (thus reducing the persistence of activity from STROLLER), the dose of STROLLER may be increased to 2.1 L/ha. Where RRR resistance occurs, even 2.1 L/ha STROLLER may give inadequate control. Where a specific graminicide has already controlled the main flush of volunteer cereals and grass weeds and where common chickweed is not a problem, the dose of STROLLER may be reduced to just 1.25 L/ha.

Winter field beans
Winter field beans may be treated with 2.1 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st December. Winter field beans should be treated within 7 days of drilling and before the crop emerges. Note that soils must be classed as medium or heavy (See soil classification below). Soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control.
Sugar beet grown for seed
Sugar beet grown for seed may be treated with 2.1 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st January once the crop has four true leaves. All soil types may be treated but soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control.

Apple, blackcurrant, blackberry, gooseberry, loganberry, pear, plum, raspberry (England Only) & redcurrant
Apple, blackcurrant, blackberry, gooseberry, loganberry, pear, plum, raspberry (England Only) & redcurrant may be treated with 2.1 - 4.25 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st January provided that the crop has been established for at least 1 year. Soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control.

Strawberry (Outdoor crops only)
Strawberries may be treated with 2.1 – 3.5 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st December provided that the crop has been established for at least 1 year. ONLY treat strawberries grown on heavy soils – see soil classification below. DO NOT use the high dose of 3.5 L/ha on matted row crops. Application may be made up to six weeks before harvest. Soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control. Do not apply simazine within 6 months of an application of STROLLER.

Rhubarb
Rhubarb may be treated with 2.1 – 4.25 L/ha STROLLER between the 1st October and 31st December provided that the crop has been established for at least 1 year. Soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control.

Lettuce (Outdoor crops only)
Outdoor crops of lettuce may be treated with 2.75 – 3.5 L/ha STROLLER at any time up to six weeks before harvest either before or after drilling. When soils are dry or under warm conditions, use the higher dose and irrigate or incorporate. Soils must contain less than 10% organic matter for STROLLER to give good weed control.

Forestry, Farm Forestry, Forest Nursery & Hedgerow
Forestry, Farm Forestry, Forest Nursery & Hedgerows may be treated with STROLLER applied at 3.75 L/ha in a water volume of 400-1000 L/ha to ensure good coverage of the soil.
