A suspension concentrate containing 500 g/litre fluazinam A fungicide for control of foliar blight (Phytophthera infestans) and protection against tuber blight in potatoes.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Important: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section should be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Disease control
TIZCA is a fungicide for control of foliar blight (Phytophthera infestans) and protection against tuber blight in potatoes.Tizca is a protectant fungicide and therefore applications must begin prior to the development of blight.

Crops
TIZCA can be used in early and maincrop potatoes

Rate and Time of Application
Apply TIZCA at 300-400 ml/ha
Initial application: Irrespective of crop growth stage, apply TIZCA at the first blight warning or when local weather conditions are favourable for the disease, whichever is the sooner. In the absence of weather conducive to disease development, the first application should be made just before the crop meets in the rows.

Repeat applications:
Risk of disease development:Low risk before conditions conducive to blight development have occured
Interval between  applications:14 days
Dose rate:300-400 ml/ha

Risk of disease development:High risk  (following two warm, humid days or in irrigated crops)
Interval between  applications:7-10 days
Dose rate:300-400 ml/ha

Risk of disease development:Severe risk (during continued warm, humid weather and or when blight is in nearby crops, potato dumps or volunteer plants)
Interval between  applications:7 days or 10 days
Dose rate: 300 ml/ha or 400 ml/ha

Tuber blight: To reduce the risk of tuber blight at harvest TIZCA should be used regularly at the recommended intervals from full canopy development to complete haulm desiccation. A complete haulm dessication programme must be carried out to reduce the risk of development of subsequent tuber blight. The crop should not be lifted for at least 10 days after complete kill of the haulm, and stored crops should not be lifted whilst any green tissue remains.
Potato blight fungicides may not give complete protection when the disease risk is severe. However, disease development will be delayed significantly with a well timed spray programme.

Mixing and Spraying
Apply TIZCA in 200-500 litres of water per hectare. Use adequate water to ensure complete coverage of the foliage and stems, increasing the volume as haulm growth progresses, particularly in dense crops and under high or severe blight risk conditions.
Apply as a MEDIUM spray, as defined by BCPC
Half fill the spray tank with clean water and start the agitation. Shake the container well before opening and pour in the required amount of product. Rinse empty containers thoroughly and add rinsings to the spray tank. Add the remainder of the water and continue agitation until spraying is completed.
When tank mixes are to be used, each product should be added separately to the spray tank, taking due note of any instructions given as to the order of mixing. Do not leave the spray liquid in the sprayer for long periods.

Advice for operators
TIZCA may cause transient skin reaction in a small number of sensitive individuals.
People who have been sensitised by TIZCA should not use or have further contact with the product.
Avoid contact with spray drift. Ensure spraying is carried out under good conditions and that the sprayer is adjusted to minimise drift.
Do not allow unprotected skin to come into contact with contaminated clothing.
Do not allow unprotected skin to come into contact with contaminated sprayer parts.
Ensure sprayer is washed down daily.
Wash all protective clothing regularly, preferably daily, when working with TIZCA.
When entering crops do not allow unprotected skin to come into contact with treated foliage.

Compatibility
For information on tank mixing please contact your Headland distributor or refer to the Headland web-site (www.headland-ag.co.uk)

Resistance
TIZCA contains fluazinam, a protectant multisite fungicide (FRAC Group 29). Disease control may be reduced if strains of pathogen less sensitive to TIZCA develop.
Make a timely start to spray programmes, when there is warning or risk, or, in the absence of weather conducive to disease development, just before the crop foliage begins to meet in the rows. Use forecast schemes and /or local knowledge to time application more accurately (see details under ‘Rate and Time of Application’).
Alternate with other fungicides having a different mode of action to FRAC Group 29 fungicides
The (CoSHH) Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations may apply to the use of this product at work.
