DIRECTIONS FOR USE


IMPORTANT: This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be carefully read in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

RESTRICTIONS
• VOLIAM must not be applied to any crop suffering from stress for example, as a result of drought, waterlog ging, low temperatures, disease attack, nutrient or lime deficiency or other factors reducing crop growth
• To protect bees and pollinating insects do not apply to crops when in flower. Do not use when bees are actively foraging (i.e. apply in the early morning or late evening). Do not apply where other flowering plants are present
• The best available application technique, which minimises off-target drift should be used to reduce effects on non-target insects or other arthropods
• Consult processor when the product is to be applied to crops grown for processing

CROPS
VOLIAM may be applied to the following crops:

Carrot
Pests controlled: Carrot fly (Psila rosae) (moderate control)

Dose: 175 ml/ha

Timing: Apply during the egg-laying (before the flight peak of adult flies) against the 1st or, preferably, the 2nd generation.

Apply in 300-800 L water/ha (normal volume sprayers).
Make no more than one application per year. Should additional sprays be needed, alternate use of VOLIAM with other suitable insecticides with a different mode of action.

Maize and sweetcorn
Pests controlled: European corn-borer
Dose: 125 ml/ha in 300-800 l/ha using boom sprayer.
Timing: Apply during the egg-laying until the very first eggs are hatching. When locally available, follow the timing recommendations for the ovi-larvicide materials.
Make no more than one application per year. Should additional sprays be needed, alternate use of VOLIAM with other suitable insecticides with a different mode of action.
This product must not be applied before BBCH 51 when applying to maize and sweetcorn.

MIXING
Before using VOLIAM, make sure that the spraying equipment is clean. VOLIAM mixes easily with water, but the following mixing procedure should be followed: Quarter fill the spray tank with clean water, start the agitation and add the required quantity of VOLIAM directly to the tank. Continue agitation while topping up the tank and while spraying.
