FORMULATION & ACTIVE INGREDIENT: WAKIL XL is a water dispersible granule formulation containing 50 g/kg fludioxonil, 175 g/kg metalaxyl-M and 100 g/kg cymoxanil.

TARGETS: Downy Mildew, Pythium spp. and Ascochyta spp. in combining and vining peas.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
DISEASES CONTROLLED
WAKIL XL is a water dispersible granule formulation containing 50 g/kg fludioxonil, 175 g/kg metalaxyl-M and 100 g/kg cymoxanil.
WAKIL XL protects against seed borne Ascochyta, downy mildew and Pythium (damping-off) in peas

CROP SPECIFIC INFORMATION
Crops
May be used as a seed treatment on all varieties of vining and combining peas.
Timing
Before drilling.
Rates of Use
2.0 kg product per tonne of seed.

MIXING AND SPRAYING
WAKIL XL should be applied through continuous flow seed treaters. Adequate seed coverage is obtained if WAKIL XL is added at the start of the conveyor or mixing process.
WAKIL XL should be made into a slurry by pouring gradually into water and mixing at the rate of 2 kg product in water to reach a final volume of 5 litres of slurry. It should be applied to seed using a volume of 5 litres of slurry per tonne of seed. Continuous flow seed treaters should be calibrated using WAKIL XL before use. Seed must only be treated by means which incorporate engineering controls for workers’ protection together with means of accurately dispensing the dose.

Mixing Procedure
1. Measure the required quantity of water into the mixing tank (0.96 litres water per 1 kg WAKIL XL).
2. Slowly add the required amount of WAKIL XL to the tank without agitation.
3. Leave for 10 minutes.
4. Add further water as required to make 5 litres slurry per tonne of seed treated (based on
amount WAKIL XL used).
5. Agitate the mixture to form a homogenous slurry.
6. Continue agitation during use, but stop agitation if a vortex develops as volume
remaining reduces.
Do not leave slurry for long periods without agitation or overnight.

Storage after Treatment
Ensure seed is of a satisfactory moisture content before storage. Keep in a dry place, correctly labelled.
Treated seed should be drilled within 12 months of being treated.
Drilling
WAKIL XL may affect the rate of flow of seed through drills. Drills should be calibrated with WAKIL XL treated seed before beginning to drill.

RESISTANCE MANAGEMENT
Strains of downy mildew resistant to phenylamide fungicides (e.g. metalaxyl-M, oxadixyl) are known to occur in some regions of the United Kingdom where peas have been grown intensively. Where these strains occur or develop, the metalaxyl-M component of WAKIL XL may not give satisfactory control. Contact your Processor fieldsman or Syngenta UK Limited if you believe you have a problem. The following measures are advised to reduce the risk of serious plant loss due to downy mildew attack:
- Use a variety with good resistance to downy milde
- A minimum of at least 5 years between pea (or bean) crops is advised in fields known to be infested with downy mildew.
- Avoid drilling peas very early in the season, when soil temperatures are lower and the potential damage from downy mildew attack is greatest.
- Avoid deep drilling.
