A fungicide for use on all varieties of early, maincrop and seed potatoes for the control of foliar late blight.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
IMPORTANT – This information is approved as part of the Product Label. All instructions within this section must be read carefully in order to obtain safe and successful use of this product.

Disease Control
Foliar late blight in potatoes (Phytophthora infestans) is a disease which is variable in its occurrence and severity. ZETANIL WG allows the use of a flexible programme to retain continuous healthy foliage free from this disease. ZETANIL WG combines the local systemic action of cymoxanil and the protectant activity of mancozeb.
ZETANIL WG will control strains of foliar late blight both resistant and sensitive to phenylamides. It is also recommended to alternate ZETANIL WG with several families of fungicides during the season to retain continuous healthy foliage free from this disease and to prevent the establishment of any infection within the crop.

Crops
All varieties of early, maincrop and seed potatoes may be treated with ZETANIL WG. CONSULT PROCESSOR BEFORE USING ON CROPS FOR PROCESSING.
Do not use on plant parts for propagation.

Timing and Weather
Spraying may commence from crop emergence (BBCH 21), when the first blight infection period occurs.
Applications should be repeated at 7-14 day intervals, depending on weather and infection risk, using the shorter spray interval when disease pressure is extreme or weather conditions are conducive to infection.
Crops grown under irrigation should be regarded as at extreme risk at all times and treated at 7 day intervals. Treatment should be applied after irrigation.
Note – Following the harvest of first early and second early crops any haulm that remains should be completely destroyed or removed immediately, as failure to do so will result in high blight pressure on neighbouring maincrop potatoes.

Dose
Apply ZETANIL WG at 2.0kg/hectare. Under conditions of high disease pressure apply ZETANIL WG at 2.4 kg/ha. A minimum interval of 7 days must be observed between treatments.

Volume and Application
Apply ZETANIL WG in 300 litres of water per hectare.

Spray Quality
Apply ZETANIL WG as a MEDIUM spray as defined in the BCPC system.

Mixing Instructions
Remove the filter basket and add the required quantity of ZETANIL WG to the half filled spray tank with the agitation system in operation and then fill to the required level. Continue agitation until spraying is completed.

Cleaning
Following use of ZETANIL WG spray equipment should be thoroughly cleaned. There are no specific requirements for cleaning following use of ZETANIL WG. Growers should consult manufacturer’s guidance procedures for their specific equipment and use a combination of triple rinsing and agitation with clean water. Equipment washings should be disposed of safely following the Code of Practice for Using Plant Protection Products and related Environment Agency guidance.

COMPANY ADVISORY INFORMATION
The following does not form part of the Product Label under the Plant Protection Products regulations 1995 and provides additional advice on product use at the discretion of the applicant.
