Introduction

Gracia (Godrej Agrovet Ltd) Fluxametamide 10% w/w EC is a broad-spectrum insecticide used to control a wide range of sucking and chewing insects in a variety of crops, including rice, wheat, sugarcane, and vegetables. It is a neonicotinoid insecticide that acts as a neurotoxin, disrupting the normal functioning of the insect's nervous system, leading to paralysis and death.

Mode of Action

Fluxametamide is absorbed by the roots and foliage of plants and translocated throughout the plant. Once inside the plant, it binds to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in the insect's nervous system. nAChRs are responsible for transmitting nerve impulses. When fluxametamide binds to nAChRs, it blocks the transmission of nerve impulses, leading to paralysis and death of the insect.

Application Rates

The application rate of Gracia will vary depending on the target pest, the crop, and the environmental conditions. In general, the application rate will range from 250 to 500 milliliters per hectare.

Application Methods

Gracia can be applied by foliar spray or by soil application. Foliar spray is the most common application method. To apply by foliar spray, mix the appropriate amount of product with water and apply the mixture to the foliage of the plants until they are thoroughly wet. Soil application is typically used for pre-emergence control of insects. To apply by soil application, mix the appropriate amount of product with water and apply the mixture to the soil surface before the insects emerge.

Application Timing

Gracia should be applied when insects are actively feeding. The best time to apply is in the spring or fall when insects are young and tender.

Re-Entry Interval

The re-entry interval for Gracia is 24 hours. This means that people should not enter the treated area until 24 hours after the last application.
