Product Description Hurricane Plus is a broad-spectrum suspension concentrate (SC) insecticide that effectively controls a wide range of sucking and chewing insects, including aphids, jassids, whiteflies, thrips, and leafminers, in various crops, including vegetables, flowers, and ornamentals. It contains a combination of novaluron (5.25%) and emamectin benzoate (0.9%) as its active ingredients.

Mode of Action

Novaluron is an insect growth regulator (IGR) that interferes with the synthesis of chitin, a key component of insect exoskeletons. This disruption in chitin synthesis leads to abnormal molting and eventually death of the insect. Emamectin benzoate is a potent neurotoxin that disrupts the central nervous system of insects. It binds to glutamate-gated chloride channels, interfering with the transmission of nerve impulses, leading to paralysis and death.

Application Instructions

Hurricane Plus can be applied as a foliar spray to actively growing plants. The amount of insecticide that you need to use will depend on the type of pests you are targeting, the severity of the pest infestation, and the crop you are treating.

To apply Hurricane Plus, follow these instructions:
