General Information:

Keefun is a broad-spectrum insecticide that belongs to the METI (Mitochondrial Electron Transport Inhibitor) class of insecticides. It is effective against a wide range of sucking and chewing pests, including aphids, thrips, diamondback moth, tobacco caterpillar, scale insects, and some fungal diseases.

Active Ingredients:

Keefun contains the active ingredient Tolfenpyrad.

Mode of Action:

Keefun is a contact and ingestion insecticide. It works by inhibiting the electron transport chain in the mitochondria of the pest's cells, which disrupts their energy production and ultimately leads to their death.

Application:

Keefun is available in a variety of formulations, including emulsifiable concentrate (EC), wettable powder (WP), and granules (GR). It can be applied to a wide range of crops, including vegetables, fruits, and field crops. Always follow the label directions for the specific formulation you are using.

Method of Application:

Keefun can be applied using a variety of methods, including foliar spraying, soil drenching, and trunk injection. The most common method of application is foliar spraying, which involves spraying the insecticide onto the leaves of the plants. Soil drenching involves applying the insecticide to the soil around the base of the plants, and trunk injection involves injecting the insecticide into the trunk of the tree.

Precautions:

Keefun is relatively safe when used according to label directions. However, it is important to avoid contact with skin and eyes, and to wear protective clothing when applying the insecticide. Keefun is also toxic to fish and aquatic invertebrates, so it should not be applied near bodies of water.
